The Delaware State University football team has announced its 2024 schedule with a season-opening visit to where no Hornet team has gone before.
The Hornets will open the 2024 campaign Saturday, August 24 at the University of Hawaii, marking the westernmost trip in program history.

The Hornets’ previous farthest west experience was an infamous 105-0 loss to Portland State and future NFL quarterback Neil Lomax in 1980.
Delaware State will open their home schedule Sept. 14 against Wagner of the Northeast Conference, and the NEC will also be the Hornets’ homecoming opponent as St. Francis University (Pa.) visits Alumni Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 5. The Hornets’ first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game will be a visit to South Carolina State Oct. 26.
The Hornets went 1-10 in Lee Hull’s first season as head coach and look to improve on that record with new recruits and much of 2023 returning for next season.
