North Carolina Central quarterback Davius Richard’s time in the HBCU Legacy Bowl was unfortunately cut severely short after suffering an apparent injury on the opening drive of the contest.
After a terrific drive in which Richard led his team downfield, he culminated the drive with a QB keeper taking it into the end zone.
On the play, he looked to have gotten his leg caught under him on the tackle and would remain down for several minutes.
The medical staff placed an air cast on his leg, and he was carted off the field. No further update has been provided on the status of the injury.

Richard came into this offseason looking to build his stock in hopes of becoming the first HBCU quarterback to be selected in the NFL Draft since 2006.
This is the second All-Star Game he has taken part in this offseason, having participated in the Hula Bowl in January.
He had been performing well this week with a strong performance in the HBCU Combine and the HBCU Legacy Bowl practices.
The night before the HBCU Legacy Bowl, Richard added another award to his name, being named a co-winner of the Deacon Jones trophy along with Florida A&M quarterback Jeremy Moussa.
