Tennessee State University secured a commitment from one of the top guards in the country.
Zachiah “ZZ” Clark, a 3-star guard from Overtime Elite, announced on his Twitter account in a post that read, “Making my own way.”

“I have been knowing Coach Penny [Brian Collins] since my freshman year and he just always has been there supporting me,” Clark said to 247sports about why he chose the Tigers. “When I was going through rough times I got to really see who was down for me. For me, it’s not about going to the biggest school but it’s about going somewhere I know the coach is going to value me and I trust what they’re doing there and how they’re going to use me.”
Zachiah appeared to be set to follow in the footsteps of older brother Skyy, a former 5-star prospect, by committing to the University of Illinois but shortly after he left the Illini program, Zachiah decomitted.
Clark, who ranks as the No. 25 overall point guard in the class of 2024, had offers from Illinois, Arizona State, Creighton, DePaul, Kansas, Vanderbilt, and Washington.
