As the Fayetteville State Broncos prepare for the 2023 season as the defending CIAA champions, they will likely have to do so without one of its top players.
All-CIAA defensive lineman Devin Cowan has entered the transfer portal.
“After careful consideration and heartfelt discussions with my loved ones, I have reached a difficult decision,” said Cowan in a statement announcing his intention to enter the transfer portal. “The opportunity to come play for my hometown the last 2 years have been amazing. To my teammates each year, we worked to be champions forming a bond that will never be replaced and will always be dear to my heart. Winning the CIAA will forever be one of my fondest memories.”
