BATON ROUGE, LA –The Prairie View Panthers were not able to notch a run against Omaha senior pitcher Kamryn Meyer and were shut out 3-0 on Saturday.
“We came in with a goal to compete and do well, but we fell short of our goal,” said head Prairie View coach Vernon Bland. “But this doesn’t take away from the season we had. We won 30 games, won our conference, and set records by winning 17 games in a row. I am proud of this group, and we only had two seniors. But we will be back.”
Sophomore pitcher Cailin Massey (11-6) got the ball to start for Prairie A&M (30-20) and took the loss. Sophomore Hailey Elizarraras was a bright spot for the Lady Panthers, coming out of the bullpen and throwing one scoreless inning, allowing no hits.

Prairie View A&M managed zero runs with runners on third in the shutout, going a total of 1-for-3 with runners in scoring position. The Panthers last got a runner on third in the fifth, when Talley made it 60 feet away from scoring with two outs.
