The Wiley College women’s basketball team will be under new leadership heading into next season as they have hired former 10-year WNBA veteran Tiffany Jackson.
A standout player from the University of Texas, Jackson was named to three All-Big 12 conference teams and an All-American.
She went on to the WNBA where she was drafted fifth overall in the 2007 draft by the New York Liberty.
In Jackson’s ten seasons in the WNBA she played with the Liberty, Tulsa Shock (now Dallas Wings) and the Los Angeles Sparks.
Her best season in the pros came in 2011 as a member of the Shock when she averaged 12.4 points and 8.4 rebounds (both career-highs) along with 1.2 steals.

At the conclusion of her playing career, Jackson returned to her alma mater where she had served as an assistant coach since 2018 prior to accepting this position.
Returning to the court for the first time since prior to the pandemic, Wiley struggled, finishing with a 5-18 overall record and a 1-13 conference record.
The Wildcats were forced to forfeit a number of games and their season was ended prematurely due to a lack of players because of injuries and other issues.
Wiley has finished with a losing record in three of the past four seasons. Since 2015, the Wildcats have had four different head coaches.
