Charlotte, NC — The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) continues to grow its office personnel with the restructure of staffing and a new external hire. Current CIAA employees Jessica Incorminias and Jenell Howard take on new roles within the conference while Chandra Mitchell joins as the newest member of the organization.

“We are excited to advance the careers of two current office staff members, both who started in the CIAA as graduate assistants. Jessica’s new role will allow her to strengthen her gifts and talents and continue to support the conference’s strategic priorities for championships and events while Jenell brings exactly what we need at this time to support business operations and strategic goals to include the CIAA ticket program,” said Commissioner Jacqie McWilliams. “A new asset to the team, we are confident that Chandra’s experience and demonstrated knowledge in administrative management will positively support the conference and Commissioner’s offices.”

Jessica Incorminias enters her 5th year with the CIAA as the newly promoted Assistant Director of Championships & Events. Incorminias’ new role includes assisting with the administration and management of the conference’s 14 championships and ancillary events. She will oversee host site selections, staffing, budgets, and operations management of conference events under the supervision of the Director of Championships. Responsible for select ancillary events, Incorminias will execute CIAA sanctioned programs such as Education Day, Career Expo, and the Tip-Off Luncheon surrounding the annual basketball tournament. Additionally, she will coordinate with other departments to develop season scheduling and marketing and public relations campaigns.

Incorminias served as the Executive Assistant to Commissioner Jacqie McWilliams from July 2014 — 2017. She began with the conference as a summer intern to the compliance department in 2013, but was quickly promoted to a graduate assistant position for the 2013 — 14 academic year.

Chandra Mitchell joins the team as the conference’s newest external hire. Mitchell will serve as the Executive Assistant to Commissioner McWilliams with a primary role to provide logistics, communication, and information management support. She will work alongside Commissioner McWilliams to prepare external correspondence of the Commissioner’s office while compiling incoming data, communication, and report information. She will manage the Commissioner’s calendar including scheduling meetings and preparing travel arrangements. Mitchell will also serve as liaison to the CIAA board of directors and Management Council.

Mitchell comes to the CIAA with over 10 years of administrative assistance experience, including a recent tenure with the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce.

Jenell Howard has been promoted to Coordinator of Business Administration and Operations. She will support the conference’s business office by maintaining accounting records, reconciling reports, and managing daily deposits. Howard will assist with the tracking and budgeting of funds for the conference overall, creating reports for business assessment and audit. Already knowledgeable about the inner-workings of the conference and its championships, Howard has taken an important role in researching and developing ticketing strategies and packages for events such as the football and basketball championships.

Howard is a CIAA product, having graduated a women’s basketball student-athlete from Elizabeth City State University (2012) and attaining her Master’s in Sports Management from Virginia State University (2015). She spent two years as a graduate assistant for the conference office before being hired full-time in the business department.
