Despite falling short in winning their respective conference tournaments and earning an automatic bid to the NCAA women’s basketball tournament, the Bethune-Cookman and Grambling State basketball teams will still participate in postseason play.
The WNIT selection committee released its 64-team tournament bracket Monday night and revealed whom B-CU and Grambling will face in the first round.
Bethune-Cookman (21-10), winner of the MEAC regular season championship, will travel to Winston-Salem, NC to face Wake Forest on Thursday.
Grambling State (18-14), who shared the SWAC regular season championship with Texas Southern, will face Ole Miss on Thursday in a game that will be played in Oxford, Miss on the Ole Miss campus.
