A Virginia State University cross country runner has been charged in the alleged a rape of a student inside a campus dormitory.
A woman alleged Jermayne Waller, 22, and another VSU female student were in a bed inside a residence hall watching a movie, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch
According to court documents, Waller is accused of touching the woman and attempting to have sex with the woman before she tried to fight him off. The woman’s roommate helped force Waller out of the dormitory.
Campus police were called following the Dec. 1 incident.
Waller, who is currently listed on the VSU cross country roster, appeared in Chesterfield County District Court on Monday, where a $7,500 bond was set.
Waller has since been banned from VSU property since his arrest.
