Finally, our first head-to-head band poll of the season!

Thursday’s ESPNU televised matchup between South Carolina State and Florida A&M wasn’t much of a football game.  The Rattlers were shut out by the Bulldogs, 36-0.

However, much to the delight of those who were in attendance, halftime featured two bands.  The FAMU Marching 100 made the road trip from Tallahassee to take on the Marching 101 of S.C. State.

And, yes, we’ve got video of each performance.

Both bands are nominees for Thursday’s HBCU Sports Band of the Week polling for Week 3.

Time to vote!

The finest show I saw last year was The Marching 100 in the Florida Classic. They are almost back so to all the others, WATCH OUT. Also, may I commend the class of their announcer who takes nothing away or detract from the shows as the majority of the HBCU bands do with their obnoxious yelling.
