NORFOLK, Va. – Bethune-Cookman senior Kayla Crawford was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Norfolk State’s Kayla Roberts earned Rookie of the Week honors, while North Carolina Central senior Racquel Davis was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Crawford (Sr., 6-0, G/F, Miami, Fla.) notched a career-high 17 points, 15 rebounds, and four steals to help lead the Lady Wildcats to their first win of the season over Lynn College. She shot 5-for-9 from the field and 7-for-9 from the free-throw line.

Roberts (Fr., 6-1, F, Miami Gardens, Fla.) averaged 19.5 points and 8.0 rebounds against Tennessee State and Nicholls State at the Teresa Phillips Thanksgiving Classic. She scored a career-high 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a win against Tennessee State and was named to the All-Tournament team.

Davis (Sr., 6-0, F, Brooklyn, N.Y.) averaged 18.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals against Winthrop and UNC-Asheville. She had a career-high 19 rebounds against Winthrop and five steals in a win against UNC-Asheville. Offensively, she averaged 23.5 points in the two games.me

Other Top Performers: 

Christina Carter (NCAT) tallied 13 points, five assists, and four rebounds in a win over Oral Roberts.

Rae Corbo (NSU) registered 21 points, six rebounds, and five assists against Nicholls State.

Bria Harris (CSU) poured in 21 points and nine rebounds in a win over Virginia Union.

Alexis Udoji (UMES) recorded a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Cheyney.
