WHAT:           Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship Final

WHERE:         Xavier University Convocation Center

WHEN:           Saturday, November 15, 2014.  12:00 PM

It’s only fitting that the 2014 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship comes down to Xavier versus SUNO.  Over the past four seasons these two programs have been the standard bearers in the GCAC.  Southern University at New Orleans has finished in second place each year while Xavier has been building one of the most impressive win streaks in the country.

The Gold Nuggets are winners of 58 consecutive GCAC matches (including postseason).  The last team to beat Xavier was SUNO back on November 12, 2010.

Xavier has defeated SUNO twice this season, winning in five sets at SUNO and taking a straight set victory over the Lady Knights at the Convocation Center.

The championship final features 9 of the 15 members of the All-GCAC volleyball team, including the GCAC Player of the Year (Chinedu Echebelem) and the last two GCAC Coaches of the Year.

Admission is free to students from GCAC member institutions with their valid identification and to children 12 years of age and younger.  The cost of attendance is $5 for those 13 years and older.
