On the final day of the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, HBCU athletes racked up several podium finishes, including many who claimed a spot in the top three of their respective events.

The day was highlighted by a trio of Voorhees athletes who each finished in the top four of the men’s triple jump, including sophomore Jayden Burris, who won the National Title with a meet record 16.32m mark (teammates Jaylen Burris and Michael Tatnall finished third and fourth, respectively).

This was one of three events in which Voorhees has someone place in the top five as Zaireon Skinner clocked in third in the men’s 200 (20.76s) and the men’s 4×100 relay team finished fifth (40.30s).

Voorhees ended the NAIA Outdoor National Championships tied for fourth in the overall team standings with 44 points.

Elsewhere, Rust’s Kaden Andrus was the best HBCU performer on the track, clocking in a time of 14.02 seconds in the finals of the men’s 110 hurdles, claiming second place in the event.

Xavier University of Louisiana’s Jaheene Bell also put up a second-place performance, posting a 50.46-second time in the men’s 400 hurdles.

Bell’s teammate, Rochelle Jeffries, was the best women’s performer of the day, taking home third place in the women’s 100-meter hurdles in a personal-best time of 13.86 seconds.

Finally, Talladega sprinter Anthony Gentles came in sixth in the men’s 100m final, clocking in at 10.51 seconds.

In the relays, Dillard finished in fifth in the men’s 4×100 relay and sixth in the women’s 4×100 relay, while Voorhees came in fifth in the women’s 4×100 relay.
