September is Over: Assessment of Programs


Lots of work to do. Establish the new QB.
He gets a chance to work on the offense vs Valley. Then he has two weeks to get timing down with his receivers before SU.
Defense has to stop the 20 yard pickups on 3-25 or more more..
We have weapons but we need to settle on the key guys. We playing everybody right now.
2-3 going into the bye week then we have three tough games after that.
 

3-0 in the SWAC but we have a ton of work to do. Our play since the Arizona game has be HIGHLY sloppy. The JSU game should not have been as close and the Alcorn game our receivers dropped absolutely too many passes.

Our defense has been keeping us in the game. The saying is defense wins championships.

We have to play a good 4 quarters from here own out.

JSU has a defense..... u all just hate to acknowledge it. LOL
 
TxSU looks better than they have looked these past few years. Offensively and defensively there is more work but for it to be the first year with the new coach they are doing well. The defense is good! Would most certainly be 3-0 if it wasnt for the QB, but its looks like they are starting to gel with the QB they have. They are known for struggling during the second half but it seems like that is also getting better. Tough road ahead but if they continue to improve, I believe things will be very interesting in the SWAC west come later on in the season!
 
We look better on special teams than we have in a long time in coverage. We need a good return man.

The defense is the second strongest unit on the team but still makes too many mental mistakes leading to penalties. They get better every week.

The offense needs work but a lot of it is growth. We need stability at the QB spot but thanks to the JSU talent level, our 3rd string QB would be a starter in the SWAC.

When JSU went 3-8 in 2009, we probably had the best defense in the SWAC had seen in the last 10 years... if your offense is not clicking, the defense will suffer.

Dude don't even mention 09 our defense that year was crazy we were literally losing every game like 14-17,14-5,21-17
