BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The SWAC has suspended 15 players involved in an in-game brawl between Southern and Texas Southern during the final game of the regular season Saturday.
Seven Southern and eight Texas Southern women’s basketball players will be suspended for the quarterfinal round of the 2015 SWAC basketball tournament. Two players, Keonia Parrish from Southern and Kiana Vines from Texas Southern, will serve an additional game suspension, according to the SWAC.
As a result of the altercation and the lack of available players to continue, the game was ended with 12:37 remaining in the second half.
Since less than 30 minutes of the contest was completed, none of the statistical information from the game will be recorded.
