Wow, what a (news) week for SU Athletics

I've seen both sides of this as well. I interned in the SID's office my last semester. Those guys do put in the time. I'm also good friends with the SID at LSU. While he does have almost unlimited staff and budget, he still works his arse long and hard because some things you just have to do yourself.

Great thread Kenn. I hadn't even heard about most of that stuff they were honored for and I've been through and through Baton Rouge recently.

JSTUS, EVERY ONE of the awards that were received by Southern University athletic teams was announced by the major media outlets in Baton Rouge. I saw them first on the evening news and then on the morning shows on both channels 2 and 9. Then I read it in my Advocate the same morning it was published.
Additionally, these stories can be found in the student publication, The Digest when the staff returns from the winter break.

Do a search on WAFB.com, WBRZ and The Advocate are on 2theadvocate.com and you will find the stories and the date they were published. They have a special link just for Southern sports.

If you watch the Sports news and read the sports section, it is difficult to miss the daily reports on Southern athletics. Did you read the paper on last Sunday? They had a two page special honoring the football teams from Southern and LSU in full color, in the middle of the sports section, side by side. It was simply beautiful!

Congratulations to Coach Rich, Quincy, Lenny and the SU Baseball Team! BLESS YOU BOYS!

Professor you may have read, seen and heard all about Su sports last week but I did not. I had a spiritual thing going on last week that was much more important to me than Su sports. Therefore, until I read Kenn's thread I had heard nothing about the honors. :D

Well it doesn't take being a professor to read, especially if what you say is true.

And this is the point I was making after you stated that you were "through and through Baton Rouge had not heard any of this information". You were intimating that the stories were not publicized in the BR community and that nobody was talking about these stories. Knowing how astute you are and assuming that you do not follow Southern sports, I thought it was important to let you know that because you didn't hear about yet more stellar accomplishments in Jaguar athletics, did not mean that it was not being discussed/disseminated in Baton Rouge. Knowledge is power my dear student! I didn't want you to not know the FACTS!

Now that you have explained why you did not know or care to know, you have proven my point.

I REST MY CASE! :D:D:D

You don't hesitate to smack pointlessly on this SPORTS BOARD, I won't...cry for me Argentina. Are you comparing? You don't want to go there. The truth is Southern padded its schedule last year with Allen etc. and that's why they won the aforementioned honor. No smack, just fact. It doesn't make Southern less, just suspect.
