minimize all you want to, but the bottom line is, Skegee was defending national champions and ranked #1 in the most recognized poll in bcf. Had they won yesterday, they would have been national champions again.

MH ain't nobody recognized the SB poll on this board in years. Hell even the later years when SU was selected for it, it was more of an after thought than a goal, the goal was always to first win the SCG and whatever happens after that was just icing on the cake.

Dude calling a win over a D2 team (a sloppy win at that) the greatest OOC win in years for the SWAC is not only sad but give legitimacy to people who say that the entire SWAC doesn't belong in D1.

Hell you're acting like Tuskegee plays 3-4 D1 schools a year. There's a reason that they continue to play ASU, they own you, the same way AAMU has owned TNSU even when they were D2.

It's not smack it's just happens to be facts and the way it is. Teams like that schedule as smart as they can to make themselves look good.

Example; The MEAC pushed real hard for the Heritage Bowl because they felt that their conference could show how far they had come and how much more superior they were to the SWAC.
But when that didn’t materialize as they hope all of a sudden their focus was on the playoffs and they used that as an out.

Now we have the MEAC/SWAC Challenge which basically their hoping for a second chance to prove the same thing again and so far they’ve been able to have bragging rights, but mark my words, as soon as that changes, they’ll find an out for that to.

Bottom-line is, the SWAC is the SEC of HBCU in conference play and they all know it. It’s the reason that you have schools in the MEAC although the travel cost isn’t worth their attendance numbers and it’s killing them, but yet they want to continue playing their SWAC rivals.

Notice that has even change because they aren’t dominating as they thought they would, making the excuse that they have scheduling problems for future years. We all know damn well no HBCU let alone any FCS school schedule that far ahead.

It’s the same reason you have a school that has more history with the SWAC than any other conference but when they decided to join a conference they joined a PWC conference and thought that they could keep the same relationship with the SWAC without having to deal with the weekend to weekend schedule of the SWAC (boy did that backfire).

So again MH I’m force to agree with GR. This is sad.

btw, this is post #50 on this thread and NOBODY has mentioned a SINGLE game to refute what I originally posted.

:scared:

You sho is right MH...whether this is a big win or not, not one person has posted an ooc win to refute your statement.

Partly due to the 9 game mandate, we were all limited in opportuniites. However, still this shows our ooc record as being horrible. It shows how much work we have to do as a conference.

Doesn't matter, they still blasted Shaw 45-7.

In addition to that, the last time Tuskegee played a SWAC school, other than a school from Bama, they lost to PB in 2006. Then they began their 26 game win streak. Also their 26 game win streak were all against D-2 schools other than AAMU and Bama State. Their records not impressive at all.

Im definitely not disagreeing with you...I have said before, if given the same schedule, I see at least 6 SWAC teams going undefeated. They let our wide receiver throw for almost 300 on them and was his FIRST time ever lining up as qb.

Hell you're acting like Tuskegee plays 3-4 D1 schools a year.
no I'm not. I'm going on FACTS, no "acting" at all. They were the black college champions last year. They have been ranked #1 for all of this year and were one game away from winning it again this year. So, you can minimize it all you want to, but those are the FACTS.

It is very easy and very convenient to say Skegee would suck in the SWAC or that SWAC teams would go undefeated with Skegee's schedule. But as always, those if scenarios and hypothetical situations mean nothing.

I hope you realize that knocking Skegee won't help you AT ALL refute my original statement. All you got to do is post those big ooc wins.

MB,
You're right. We do have work. The first step is to realize it. Sad though that some folks aint made that step yet.

oh well, still waiting on the game/win :scared::scared:

The nine game mandate has limited the opportunities. Funny MH didn't mention this. This simply means that SWAC teams only had two opportunities to play ooc teams.

If MH considers Bama State's win over Tuskegee to be a strong win, why wouldn't PB's win over that same school have not been a strong ooc win in '06? I answered his question in my last post about PB winning against Tuskegee in '06, but he missed it. Not surprised though.

MB, aren't you supposed to be at the dome?:lol:

ummm jayrob,
Skegee wasnt #1 in 06. Matter of fact, they even lost to Miles AND Clark Atlanta that year.

but if you consider PB's win over them that year as big, ASU's win over them now (when they're 10-0, ranked #1 in bcf, and a 26 game winning streak) doenst it make sense to you (LOL) that ASU's win is much bigger.

Keep it real.

sheesh

No they're not,` we have two Alabama schools as living proof. They both thought they were going to come in the SWAC and be gang buster over night (it's on record)

Remember the Big take over..that's still under construction? Not to mention the Arkansas school the were world beaters before they entered the SWAC

Again, YOUR SCHOOL IS THE ONLY SCHOOL THAT TUSKEGEE HAS A WINNING RECORD LIKE THIS OVER, IN THE SWAC IN MODERN DAY HISTORY.

THAT'S A FACT!!!

mh,

The fatal fallacy in your premise is that this was a big win. Maybe to you and the rest of the bees it was a big win. But to the rest of us, we only care that y'all didn't embarrass the conference yet again by losing to the same D2 school that's been kicking y'alls ass for years. You can post all the rankings from that poll all you want. The fact remains we don't respect Sheridan or Tuskegee's program, on this level, enough to give y'all them kinda props. Y'all ain't beat nobody. They are a great D2 program. But they are D2. If any school has any win over a FCS/I-AA OOC squad, then it's bigger than y'all beating 'skegee.

I can't believe I actually responded to this crap. :noidea:

I'm confused.

It seem that when certain teams lose to DII schools it's how great that team is or was the year before and "they would have beat y'all worse". However, when it comes to other teams that beat teams that were ranked as high or higher than the team they lost to it should be downplayed?

bluedog,

Since AAMU has been a full member of the SWAC we have been one of the top teams in the conference. Even with our record this year we are still in the upper half of the SWAC. We did not struggle in the SWAC when we moved up from the SIAC.

Dude, kill that. Ain't nothing to be confused about. Tuskegee ain't nobody to be flipping cartwheels over beating. If one of use were to beat one of those D2 schools you say folk were saying was so great or "would have beat y'all worse," none of us, but you BAMAS, would be on here talking about how it was the greatest OOC win in years. We woulda beat a damn D2. No more, no less. Maybe that team was just that good, but we still would do the crap mh is doing right now. The FACT that 'skegee lost to Bama State tells us all we need to know. If I thought 'skegee was that good, and I didn't, after losing to this Bama State team, I KNOW they ain't good at all. Don't care where they were ranked in some silly poll. And yes, I'm calling the Sheridan a silly poll.

but rob,
Sheridan is the most recognized poll in bcf. Whether yall choose to "respect it" or not, that's on yall, but that doesnt change that FACT. (btw, later on today, I'm sure folks from either Texas or Oklahoma won't be "respecting" the BCS either, but that won't change the FACT thats how the mythical national champion is determined. In bcf, Sheridan is the way its determined. So, you can not respect it, but it is what it is. Had Skegee won Thursday, they would be bcf national champs today. That's another FACT. Regardless of division labels, ASU beat the #1 team in bcf. That's what makes it big. Remove the teams involved and bottom line, a SWAC team beat the #1 ranked team in bcf.

And to suggest that "any win over a FCS squad is bigger", you can't be serious. Folks think that any FCS team is inherently better than any D2 team. But if we're honest with ourselves , we shole don't have to search far and wide in the SWAC to see how thats not the case.

btw, it's sad though how we shole are having to search far and wide to post those big wins I asked about. Over 60 posts ago. :scared:

But I get it though. Trust me, I do. To agree with my original post, folks would have to look in the mirror. And some folks don't like doing that.

Bingo
:idea::idea:

We woulda beat a damn D2. m

:shame: You did, barely beat one of the worst DII teams in the nation (With some help).:shame:

When you had the chance to play one of the higher DII teams, like Tuskegee, it wasn't pretty.:shame:

Some of us :spin: the hell out of LOSING to DIIs, so what's wrong with milking a win?

Where did I say that you weren't? What I said was you all thought you were going to come in here and take over.

I'm sure you remember the comments that were written in the media after you all losing a game and blaming the officials as usual (some) and the official making the statement about it, in short saying that he told you all when you became a member of the SWAC, not to expect that you were going to be racking up trophies over night.

That comment became the foundation of the famous empty trophy case smack....remember?

Is this guy still bragging on finally beating a D2 team? This sad thread is still going? This is a really weak day in SWAC history.

I posted at 7:09am... BR is about 65 miles from New Orleans. I sat in my seat inside the dome at 12:30. No traffic problems at all...Had my GSU license plate so folks were moving out of my way.

As for UAPB ...there win wasn't as impressive because it occurred BEFORE the 26 game Tuskegee win streak.

The perception was that we would be "cellar dwellers" in the SWAC and just like "PB", but we dismissed that crap real quick.

The protection of institutionalism is what the offical was refering to and not the product on the field.

This is much sadder than that pake funt ran by Pete during the 1st half of the game Saturday. MH, you have lost all credibility here.

beans,
If I thought you had a clue, I would ask you to attempt to refute the post. But we all know you don't. You would've done better by not even responding. :scared:
