I see many of you are like myself and are not drowing in work on this blessed day with all of these hits.
Southern has talent coming in. The kid from West Feleciana and Catholic of Pointe Coupee to name a few will be able to hit the field sooner than everyone thinks. People are healthier this spring who were hurt last spring and SU returns the entire defensive line that dominated Grambling at the end of the year.

I am the College Gameday
I thought AAMU would win the SWAC in 06, JSU had the best shot in 07, and I'm predicting SU in 08

Dude yall were overated and SU exposed yall twice that year. No different than we did Carson's Team the previous 3 years in row before 99. 99 just made it 5 in row over JSU for SU. All done was less talent than JSU as yall say. I guess Hughes cost JSU those games too.

JR.
You won that SCG game on a 10 yard slant to the sideline that went for 60 yards on what was basically the last play.
Our DB went down on the cut after the catch.

Carry on.

SU also returns the entire O-line except the weakest link , plus the O-linemen that were inelgible last season.

JR Pete has been short all spring. You better read the advocate. He waiting on a bunch of help too. B Lee and no line and you have no Linebackers..
Come on JR we aint falling for idol talk. You guys hurting on the Bluff

Or Receivers...

Dude, it is the SPRING. The OL got the 3 ineligibles back. Didn't you read that. No problem. Did you not also read that the LBs are the deepest spot on defense from the coaching the staff. WRs? Man SU never worries about WRs. We have everybody back except Landry. Hell the guy who had the best of it against yall will be the man this year.........Clevan White 6'4 Jr. Aint nobody worried about WRs. Yall better stop reading into Joe S bullcrap. He fooled yall into thinking we would be below .500 last season and we went 8-3 with every loss less than a TD. I would think by now yall would understand that.

Hell LSU had alot of folks out in their Spring practice..........but you know damn well them fools going to be ready in the summer.

Does it matter how we scored. Actually it went to the endzone to Devin Lewis. The 60 yard was the previous TD. Edreece Brown picked off Mark Washington back to back to seal the deal. We also beat yall in Memorial that year and the 3 previous years. I am just trying to get TP to stop blaming Hughes for 99. He didn't blame Carson for 96(even though TxSU win over SU gave JSU the SWAC title), 97, or 98 when we beat yall.

Pretty much. Hughes cost us that 1999 championship. We were by far the best team in BCF that year.

After "WE" SU beat JSU twice in 99 regular season and SCG, and you still "THINK" yall were the best in BCF?!?!.. GTFOOH.....

Frank Warren/Cornelius Walker will be the two best backs in the league this season. We'll see how things work out this year. I'm thinking Gram's gonna have a lot to say about things in the West and the entire SWAC. We got unfinished bizness in Birmingham!!!!!

...and you fooled some into thinking SU was going to win the SWAC. Hell, you couldn't even win the West.

Keep hoping for a championship. As the old saying goes, "put a typewriter in front of a monkey, he bound to type a word sooner or later.":swink:

It's not "Gramblinham anymore"??:lol::pimp:

I forgot we lost homecoming my crab year.. I think them fools beat us 21 to 7 or some isht.. I remember Doc being very HEATED, looked like he wanted to start coaching the game..lol

That's true, but we all know how that goes out the window Bayou Classic weekend.

Nothing is always... just like it seems that we always beat JSU but that's not really the case. Sometimes perception clouds reality...I had a frat brother the other day who swore that we didn't beat SU back to back in 2004 & 2005.

It will always be Gramblingham...thanks for the reminder. However, I wasn't talking smack so I referred to it by it's actual name and not the name that it's becoming known as.

No it don't matter.
That was not Hugh's fault our DB slipped down when your boy made his cut back away from the sideline.
That guy should have been down the second he caught the ball.

And like I said, that WAS basically the last play cause we only had bou 30 seconds left in the game when we got the ball back.

I know.
We had walked around the bottom of Legion field and was watching the last play's right under the SU band near the exit.
You know we was talking shat before that last score. :lmao:

I can't wait for the season because I think Southern, Grambling, Jackson State, and Prairie View will be strong this season. UAPB will be dangerous if their line play improves and Texas Southern should improve with the Coles in charge. I really can't say what to expect from the rest.

I'll go with your first choice. As the good book says, "out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh." B I R M I N G H A M it is.

I can!! A fight for second place behind JSU.:swink:

It has always "officially" been Birmingham. Gramblingham is simply the name that was bestowed upon it as a means of recognizing that we own the city in terms of winning games and signing top recruits. Prolly cuz we seem to go there on an annual basis and not every 10 years or so (like some folk).

How did this thread digress into bordeline smack with references to Hughes, 1998 and other past years???

We're talking about the 2008 season...

Here's my belief..

SU quarterback Bryant Lee was the most consistent in the conference last season, in his first year starting behind a patchwork offensive line.

GeeArrah asks why he dumped down to Darren Coates so much. Well simple, take what the defense gives you. Teams doubled Money Landry, which allowed the matchup of Coates on a linebacker down the field. Lee took advantage of the mismatches with the passing to Coates.

Now this season, offensively the question lies in who will tote the rock? Will it be incumbent Kendrick Smith or redshirt freshmen Amonte Harper (from Clinton, Ms.) or Micah Smith from St. Aug. Also, All-State RB Jerry Joseph and Clinton's Byron Williams will come in and immediately add depth and challenge for PT.

The ineligible O-linemen are all back along with those guys that played last season, so we're automatically deeper in that area. Sure, we'll miss Landry at receiver, but with White, Stewart, Roberts and company, we should be fine.

Defensively, DE Vince Lands WILL be a preseason FCS All-America pick, plus the whole D-line rotation comes back -- along with others that were ineligible.

Linebacking corps only loses Brian Lewis, who is leaving to concentrate more on his studies (outstanding student)...however, that group is deep and young.

Secondary will lose George and Osawemwenze, but Bell and Mike Williams and Toyin Akinwale gives us veterans back there...

I think Southern will take the SWAC in 08, but it'll depend on how well we run the ball and plugging in quality players in the secondary.

No smack intended, but JR, you were singing that same tune last year and look where it got you.
After the JSU game, SU folks were quiet as a church mouse on the smack board.

If your defense hasn't improved from last season, look for Lee to put up some numbers, but your defense won't be able to hold the opponent's offense at bay. Your DB's last year weren't good at all, kinda like A&M's.

The same DB's that made you go to OT and win by 3 points with 450 yards. :retard:

Dude, those DB's had nothing to do with yall scoring those points. Yall got rolled for nearly 400 plus yards by ONE man.
Our offense ran over and through your defense at will.

Do you realize how crazy you sound? :retard: Your offense rolled over our defense but you still had to go to OT to win by 3 points. :xeye: Only in Sippi man. Only in Sippi.:retard:
