I don't know about this Lee person, but I hope that they will all dig a little deep to win for Coach T. (Love you Coach), But BIG UPS to those Flying Tigers of TSU

JSU will win the SWAC in 2008. The best you all can hope for is 2010 because in 2009, we are gonna be a beast!!!! No other team on the EAST will see Bham for the next 4 years AT LEAST.

TP, I'm a JSU and SU Fan, but I gotta go with Lee on this one. A Healthy Lee will get it done in 08.

He may have some success with the rest of the SWAC though.
Too bad he couldnt win the big games last year.
He threw a lot of passes to his RB....so can you really tell how good HE is?

Oh well if you believe that. Same talent that beat all those teams in the West last year including PB.........we all know that unsportsmanlike penalty gave them the game. They come to BR this year. Dude yall were overated and SU exposed yall twice that year. No different than we did Carson's Team the previous 3 years in row before 99. 99 just made it 5 in row over JSU for SU. All done was less talent than JSU as yall say. I guess Hughes cost JSU those games too.

All this looking in the future will not win games, playing the game on the field and playing it good wins games, i'm tired of all this we gonna win this we gonna win that BS, JUST DO IT! I'm hearing great things about our team but all of it is not going to matter until they match up against someones elses defense and offense!

He's telling the truth, so what's the problem?

Here are a few reasons why TP's correct...

--Barlow hasn't a clue about offense or how to run one.
--AJ has no talent left on offense or defense and will be in rebuilding mode.
--Valley....well I need not say more since their record against JSU is 7-46, with 15 straight losses to JSU.
--Alcorn's new coach will take three to four years to build that program to respectablility. Ripsaw ripped up what little tradition they had while he was there.

The future in the East is bright for JSU. Once we get to B'ham, winning is virtually a done deal.

No smack intended, but JR, you were singing that same tune last year and look where it got you.
After the JSU game, SU folks were quiet as a church mouse on the smack board.

If your defense hasn't improved from last season, look for Lee to put up some numbers, but your defense won't be able to hold the opponent's offense at bay. Your DB's last year weren't good at all, kinda like A&M's.
 
Honestly, I think Southern will put a good team on the field in '08. They have a steady QB and most of the O-Line returning. Say what you want about Lee, but he's a good QB in that system, and he'll win games. And Pete will find a system RB to pick up yards on the ground.

If they beat JSU, they are coming out of the West since JSU's game w/ Gram doesn't count. They might make it to B'ham regardless of that.

I hope you are right becasue I want to see SU across from us in Bham but I just don't see it. Bringing back sorry starters is not gonna cut it. Pete has never won on talent. Pete has always been the master game planner and that has at least kept him games. That kept him from losing by 2-3 TD's in Jackson in 2006.
