why & How does "white flight" destroy a community?


Some of yall must live in la la land or just love white skin. Look I have white costumers, black costumers, Asian costumers, Hispanic costumers from the hood, trailer park(Yes some them have grass too. I was surprised also), middle class and affluent class. In all those areas this is how it works. The blacks in the middle class and upper class have the best looking yards. They take care of their homes way better than the whites. Now in the hood for some reason it seems like more of the whites in those areas do a better job of taking care of their yards. I know in my neighborhood the problem is the white folks. They would put up anything if it wasn't for the HOA. Most of these folks come from the hicks and get opportunities because of their skin and move into these neighborhoods to get away from what they consider regular blacks. Say what you wanna but I am out here in these neighborhoods 6 to 7 months a years and see it all.

They will have all kinds of campers, dear stands, and junk in their yards if it was not for that HOA...They shole worse about having all kinds of junk...

ok so not understanding the value of home ownership and the benifit of high property values.
Not knowing that instead of paying a car note homeowners can take out an equity line of credit pay
for the car in cash, only pay 2% interest back to the mortgage co./bank but you can write the 2% off on taxes

not having pride in ownership, but having pride in spending more in rent than mortgage on
a swanky apartment that's funding someone else's lifestyle

thinking you're dodging property taxes and insurance payments but in reality you're not because
you're paying the owners taxes and insurance

Always making our kids start from scratch or less than scratch because we leave them nothing

or

Is this all just a case of wanting to live a life free of responsibilty, and I mean all responsibility, from taking care of kids
to taking care of trash, grass or any general maintenance of the area we live, all the while making sure we're fresh to death
if the feds is watching?

So these white folks move and they are still in power positions. So should we still blame white people or our fellow black folks? Should we examine the numbers of black folks with felonies who are unaware that they can petition to get their voting rights back....

I think outside of Ferguson our black people have a deeper problem. It's like Buckwheat has KRS-1 as his avatar pointing at his brain. We need to think. Some of us listen to give a response rather than listening to institute change.

Also many of our black folks look down upon each other. Oh he does not use proper english...I can't be around him...oh her name is Boomsheka...she must come a ghetto family....oh I knew her mother back in the day she is going to be a whore also... Heck we talk ourselves out of success.

We can have nice neighborhoods but we have to teach our kids from a young age to value items that are investments...like houses...their credit...land. :clap:..

yes ENVY I think is a major problem, I know a neighborhood guy opened a business, the people didn't support it. He closed it and reopen it pretending a white guy had bought him out, the place stayed loaded with customers :shame:

That's the reason why Desoto County's population here in Mississippi has exploded over the past 20 years or so (Horn Lake was the fastest growing city in the US from 1990-2010 growing by over 400%). Them folks drive that 15-45 minute drive into Memphis to work but stay in Horn Lake, Southaven, Olive Branch, etc.

Same thing is happening in Jackson which why, until the past 5 years or so, Jackson's population declined over the past 30 years or so. Meanwhile Rankin and especially Madison County have exploded in population. Live in lilly white Ridgeland and Madison but working in Jackson.

This is true as well unfortunately.

I would love to see Black Wall Street type communities/towns pop up in my lifetime but as you said we run up behind them and take our talents/send our brightest to their schools and work for them helping THEM get richer but not starting our own. I know we got enough bright minds to start our own tech companies instead of running to Google or Microsoft.

I cringe everytime I hear someone on tv who starts listing the problems of the neighborhood, and "white flight" is listed as one.

Nucca what white flight got to do with you cutting the grass? picking up the trash? not parking and barbequing on ya front lawn?

You're also right about even us so-called educated blacks, instead of enjoying each other in our nice neighborhoods, we rather
try to "one-up" each other, thinking the way to do that is by following the white flight, then when we get there in 5 years the whites have taken off again :lol:

Don't mess around with ANY law enforcement in Desoto County especially Horn Lake and Southaven :lol:

I already don't like driving on Goodman Road because of the traffic (they need to hurry up with the 69 bypass) and then you have to constantly watch your speedometer. They will light you up :lol:

And all the while whinning and complaining that its all someone else's fault when its really a basic lack of understanding of how things work. Its some sort of magic that causes the neighborhoods that these folks flee for to be better maintained.

Blaming the Black middle class for the problems in the Black community is like blaming the Africans that helped the slave trappers to capture other Africans to be enslaved, while rich White slave owners escaped prosecution. The problem runs deeper than just the Black middle class.
 



Man tell me about it. I have family in Hornlake, South Haven, Hernando and Olive Branch. Them mofo's be setting up roadblocks quick as heck. They so bad they be trying to lock the passenger up if the driver ain't drunk. :lol: I went to court with one of my cousins over there because he was on the passenger side and they tried to lock him up for public intoxication. :lol: Ain't the purpose of a designated driver is to prevent drunk driving? :lol: It was like the hold court room in Hornlake was black.

Hate to say this but when you let too many nigs move into a seemingly nice neighborhood as to not shun your own, it will happen (and i'm far from being uppity but just keeping it real). I've witnessed it happen a few times.

I visited one of my sorors in one of the towns and I saw they had built a nice little middle income-ish neighborhood from the ground up and I said "those houses look nice" and she said "it wont last long. Them hood folks will move in and tear them up" :lol: (the houses are right next to the hood)

So should someone move when renting and Section 8 comes in, or should we work to outlaw Section 8,
or should we befriend the Section 8ers and teach them to not tear the screen door to pieces etc etc
 
Yes they will. Home owner associations are for them. Get help with your complex dude.

I don't think no one is blaming middle class blacks. Just pointing out what happens when we leave. Upper class whites would prefer middle class blacks over poor whites any day.

I've never had any run ins personally but I've saw what they are capable of first hand as well.

I've thought about moving up there but if I did, it will more than likely be Walls more than the big towns/suburbs (although it costs just as much if not more to live in Walls than those other towns)
