White enrollment grows at historic black colleges

I'm trying to understand this fixation with Ole Miss?

If Ole Miss offers you a scholarship, what is the problem? Should I not attend them because I am black. Somebody please explain.

My brother received a full scholarship to Ole Miss and he graduated. Does he wear their 'nalia'? No, he doesn't. But his education was paid in full. That's all that matters. :tup:

Question....Why is there a Black Student Union organization on HBCU's? I've never been able to figure that one out.

Its just obvious that folks aren't open to another point of view. But since we are just a bunch of know it all Poindexters, explain to me in your best narrow minded passing judgement attitude why if everything is so d@m beautiful in the progressive enviroment that you all reside in was painted red during the last presidential election. All yaw Ole Miss jersey wearin', they just got rid of the flag five years ago(at the most), 2 Mac giving money to a school that don't need it that Bush won yaw 2-4 electorial votes (nickel and dime in the big picture of things). I believe that this rascist area that I grew up in was painted blue at 12 noon. Their votes were based on economics which is at the root of the point that I have been trying to get across. But some folks are so caught up on their NEW found freedom that it went over their heads. Like I said before, economics has always played a large roll in my race relations, not master.

I'm not going to say that there aren't any racist people still here in Miss. I work with some of them. Some people aren't going to change but to a certain extent they accept that they cannot keep us down anymore. They know that we are the backbone of this nation. They know we are a intelligent, skilled, talented race of people. But in all that, do you think that they like it h@ll naw. But do they accept, h@ll they have no other choice but to. Things will never be right no matter what you do. But do what you know is right and just and let their ignorance follow them to their grave.

NT, why are you so angry? Do you honestly believe people are proud of what happened years ago and today. BUT, it is up to us to make it better for the next generation just as it was done for us.

When I was in the MBA program at Alcorn, White doctors and nurses were going to school for free simply because their pigmentation did not contain any melanin....... sounds like jim crow era or somethin.....hmmm :upset: :upset:

First, nobody said everything was so beautiful. We, at least I have said more than once that we have a long way to go, but have come so far. Excuse me if I see the glass as half full, while you see it as half empty. But what does people voting Republican make everything so bad. People have the right to chose who they vote for. I voted Democrat, they voted Republican. More power to them. I guess now you are going to say that all Republicans are racist. I don't agree with most of what they say, but that would be silly.

For one, when we attend universities as such, we know that whatever extra curricular activities that exist are not for us. Admissions may have been open to us long before tanks entered Oxford MS., but we always knew that we were not wanted. Because you are being barely tolerated doesn't mean that you are welcomed.

But in general, we know how white people iz and we (they) never forget. If we get a hook-up from a white person, its considered a plus because its never expected. I guess you can say at a young age, we learned that the only time they will tolerate you is when it can benefit them economically. Outside of that, you are not wanted unless they love the novelty of your presence. I wouldn't say that we think we are free, there are just more educational and economic opppurtunities available to us if you are willing to put in the work. To sum it up, what does a white person from Chicago (and the rest of white america) call Michael Jordan? A NIKKA! That fight with the fans in Auburn Hills popped off for a reason.

But I will say this, if a white person in the north likes you, because you did something to earn their respct (I'm not saying that our goal in life is to appease them). Not just to pity you because of slavery. They just about money "And THATS IT".
