As far as Jackson is concerned, great central location, but when the weather is bad, it is no different than BHam.

I really don't think so...besides, even in bad weather, Bham has drawn 20K. I don't think Jackson would do any worse.

MH, Texas Southern and PV are playing in SCG every week. I don't think your comparison is fair. If there was ONE game going in all of BCF, I think people would be willing to make Houston a travel destination. Also, during the year, people have to pick and choose games, Classic, homecomings, rivals, etc... TxSo and PV don't fit that bill for most us. I guess the point I am trying to make is that if it's gonna be in the cold, Jackson makes more sense because it is in the heart of the SWAC and we have 3 SWAC schools in MS. If central location is not considered, it needs to be in a place that people would not mind going regardless of the teams. I just think we could grow this better in Houston.

This is Jackson vs. Bham...for central local, Jackson wins
This is Houston vs. Bham... Houston wins.

I'd like to see the game played in Memphis - not a covered stadium but it is centrally located. The airport can handle the crowd and their are hotels everywhere. Casinos could be sponsors, as well as, some other corporations in Memphis such as Kellog's and Federal Express, i.e. Memphis folk go to games and there are other outlets that can attract the crowds - malls, casinos, dog track, Beale Street.....how would Memphis grab you?

I'm not sure the NCAA would allow any sponsorship by a gambling entity. And it's cold in Memphis in December.:swink: But than again it's going to be chilly at any outdoor stadium in this part of the country.

Several years ago I suggested having the championship game at the home of the division champs on alternate years. IE: 2006 - East champ, 2007 - West champ

If a school chooses not to host on campus, they can make arrrangements to host at another facility, or give the game to the other division champ. That would not change the schedule for the next year.

Texas Southern/ Prairie View could have multiple options under this plan using on campus facilities or the stadiums in the Houston area, or take it to Dallas if they desire.

MVSU could stay home, or look at Jackson or some other sites. The same with UAPB.

It comes down to money. Until we find a place that will support the SWAC and the SWAC fans support the SCG, we'll be looking. Like somebody said in another thread, you can't please everyone, you just have to try and please most of them.

Why not have it in a different location EVERY year. In the East one year, then the West the next. That way a city won't get a bad rap. Just think about BHam its first year. What if the SCG didn't come back to BHam for 4 or 5 years after the first year, people would FLOCK back to BHam because they would remember how GREAT of time they had the first time.

People won't go back to BHam now because we just WORE IT OUT. Move the SCG around.

I agree.

I would probably go with the Superdome or Georgia Dome...that's just my opinion. :)
GA. Dome didn't do well for the Heritage Bowl as far as attendance. The last HB between su/HU? was horrible. I was at that game and I think su lost.....

I wish we could add cancel the game to the poll. I think it might have a shot at winning. Can we add it and vote again?

Wasn't HU actually the 3rd team out of the MEAC that year because two MEAC schools went on to the playoffs (FAMU and ???). It was a meaningless game before it started.

G-Man... you do know that there were over 30,000 at the last Heritage Bowl dont you... I was there also.. Attendene was never bad at the Heritage Bowl.
