We don't care what you "hope" he's not doing. If he wanted to pimp JSU then he wouldn't have waited 10yrs to get the Head Coaching position.

I disagree. When someone disagree with your perspectives, you take it as a joke but it's not. You jsu folks are loyal sometimes to a fault and become tunnel vision on some topics. JR is pretty good about letting me know when he disagrees with me and we agree to disagree and keep it moving. Now you Beans on the other hand are a trouble maker and should be arrested. I know you can't possibly believe some of the stuff you post. :lol: :emlaugh:
 
But back to the topic. I like what Brent had done these first couple of weeks. /99 says he thinks we will be on to something in 3 years. I think we have a chance to win the SWAC and much more next season, looking at what we have returning and who we're adding. I would like to say him use his last scholarship on a JUCO post player to compliment Readus and Coleman down low. Guard play will be good, for sure.
 
Assuming everyone returns. I'm hearing some not-so encouraging things about Howard and Nelson. I'm also expecting some growing pains as these guys learn to play Brent's way. We shall see.
 
I have long thought that the quickest way for the SWAC to return to prominence on the national stage was through basketball. Over the last few years, smaller schools have proven that they can compete in the NCAA tourney. It's much easier to build a competitive team in basketball than football. Not to mention that some of our schools are sitting on hotbeds of talent. JSU and Southern in particular. Hiring someone who can capitalize on that talent is probably one of the best things JSU could have done for themselves and the conference as a whole. Higher quality competition is good for everyone.

Brent will do well at JSU. Dude knows what he is doing. As long as no one tries to undermine him or put unrealistic expectations on him, he will be in the mix for titles sooner than later.
