Watching Southern vs. Holy Cross

Starting off 0-12 from 3 (just a bad shooting game overall)
HC hitting their FTs
Champion got hot at the end

That's what did Southern in at the end

It happens all the time. Wisconsin vs Kentucky, UNLV vs Duke, Georgetown vs Princeton,,,,,,,, And we always say the same thing..... how did they win?

Please. No it doesn't. Where any of those teams 14-19? This is the reason why so many NIT top seeds complain about allowing lower major conference champions to play in the tournament.

Now I know Banks can coach better than that
I had him pegged as 1 of the top 3 coaches in the Swac along with Davis and Lew Jack. That was piss poor
Especially if you had film on the team and you KNEW they were going to run a simple 1-3-1 offense. Banks failed to tell his players to quit going UNDER the screens, nor did they switch on simple picks.

Our best players were all in foul trouble the entire game.
No they weren't. They weren't in foul trouble at the beginning of the game and even if they were, they could've switched to a zone and pressed off the zone.
They pressed ONE time, got a turnover and didn't do it anymore for the rest of the game. They played zone once, got a turnover and went back to man to man. Couldn't understand that one bit.

In the SWAC's Case, we just need to go ahead and send the regular season Champ to represent in the Big Dance. Sending the Tournament Champ does not always result in the best team going.

To me, being the Regular Season Champ Holds More weight than Tournament Champion. Anybody can beat anybody in the Tournament because it's your 3rd time playing them this season.

Look at the NYG winning the Super Bowl in 2007: It took them 3 Games to finally beat my Cowboys and a 2nd Game, The SuperBowl itself, to beat Undefeated New England. You could say NYG was NOT the best team that season. Same applies for a Basketball Tournament Champion.

This had nothing to do with lack of talent or conference champion. Coaching or lack thereof, lost this game.

Was SU the Best Team in the SWAC this year?
Doesn't matter, we've played and beaten far better teams than Holy Cross. We just chose the worst possible time to revert back to our SWAC regular-season form of not executing consistently. Texas Southern, Jackson State, Bama State and Alcorn were all better teams than them, I just think the players and possibly coaches let the hype of Holy Cross' style get in their heads.
