DEVILish Gyrl said:This conversation has gotten way off track so Im going to sum everything up. We are not gioing to Chicago and no one really cares, Grambling may have a good band but there arent very many people in MS who think of Gram when you speak in terms of great bands (no offense but that's how it is) they'd much rather see JSU and SU. Oh and one last thing, no one cares that GSU isnt coming to Itta Bena. Why? We aren't very fond of you all and no one in Itta Bena is interested in going to Grambling.
MikeBigg said:That's probably all very true. The Grambling folk are not interested in going to Itta Bena and it seems the Valley folk feel the same about a game in Grambling. I personally think both schools should consider moving the game to New Orlean's Tad Gormley stadium for two years. It would be a good recruiting tactic for both schools (students, band, athletes).
Tad Gormley is in City Park in N.O. I know it was renovated for the Olympic Trials back in the 90s. Tulane played a game here a few years ago.LS Syndicate said:I've heard of Gormley but have never seen it. Where is it in N.O. and what's the capacity?
GRAM4LIFE said:Yeah that would be a good idea because neither school goes to the others home games. Make it a yearly thing and it could grow into something. New Orleans or Jackson...
I have no problem with N.O. I was just giving an additional site option. Especially since Jackson is in a closer driving range to Valley. They might not see the advantage of playing the game in N.O. like you and I might.MikeBigg said:Nothing against Jackson, but Valley could probably have better recruiting success in New Orleans. Plus having the game in New Orleans would be attractive to non-New Orleans recruits from both schools. Throw in the fact that New Orleans has some of the best high school musicians to recruit from and you see the merit of such a game.
I just think this is win/win. Grambling needs an additional game in the Southern part of the state and Valley could also benefit from playing
in this venue.
