Uncle Luke has a message for the HBCU coaches out there

Times have changed. I think the only way it'll change back is if we have a power shift. Let's say one of two of the top ten players in the nation decided to attend an HBCU. More probably would follow but with these power 5 schools throwing out money and all, it'll be hard.

I respect him for him honoring Coach Rob but times have really changed. School administrators want to win and their salaries are contingent on that. Coaches holding down a coaching job for 30 years is almost non-existent now because of the money involved in winning.

Luke "Skywalker" and 2Live almost singlehandedly put univ of miami into the stratosphere in terms of luring the best of the best black talent and then paying quite a few of them under the table. He's full of newly acquired hotep bullshit. lol Keep your rhetoric for "the U," luke.

If he were really really sincere about that, maybe he should sponsor a megacamp/college fair for South Florida kids to have access to HBCU coaches and HBCUs in general ...

I know churches down there do HBCU tours. Maybe he should link up with those churches and do something bigger.

I still say that will eventually happen soon but it has to be one with the RIGHT mindset or the right situation.

It's sort of happening now although not directly out of high school. NCCU got a 4 star I believe that transferred from Oregon with 4 years of eligibility left last year. These athletes see that you can make it to the league from a HBCU instead of being 4-5th string at a P5 school

As far as Uncle Luke is concerned, I can definitely understand how some people are hesitant to trust him given his history. He played a role in putting The U on the map. Actions are louder than words

Or sponsor/fund a scholarship for an athlete (male and/or female).

True, once we start getting them right out of high school then it will change.

Maybe it is indeed a coded message. Maybe he is saying that it is a new day and our more talented kids are indeed interested in attending HBCUs like never before. So it is probably okay to use more resources in going after players that they thought would never consider their school?

Perhaps so. What I do know though is that some programs go after these kids now and are still getting rejected. Some of these programs work harder than many may think to get top caliber athletes. I have much respect for some of the work they're putting in.

nothing has changed, don't let it fool you. If Miami came in the same folks who can influence them will roll with Miami 99.99%.

The transfer portal is our new friend as you can get transfers like we did in the 90s before all this blocking.

You spoke some truth!

That's what I am saying. If he serious then cash a few players out to go to FAMU

Didn't SMU do something similar to that and got the death penalty? Shiiid, if SMU got the death penalty, what yall think will happen to FAMU if they get caught? Lets get real here, HBCUs can't do what these Power 5 do and get away with it like they can. Hell, an HBCU will get put on probation if their boosters/supporters buys a kid a 2 piece and a biscuit. Ok, I am exaggerating, but yall get my point.
