TSPN Teachers, while you are here...

When dealing with children, ribs are a tender spot. You can usually get a charging one to drop and roll with a good rib shot.
First, believe me my school is not this way every day. With the poor principal last year it was much better. Now we do not have poor....shti poor.
here goes in short form:

School wide search this morn.
mad parents and students after school. "i want my child's (whatever)"
Student shoves door open as I am going in. I catch , keep other teach from getting hit.
parent wants to hit prin.
nother student comes up and swings on VP.
I grab him from 3 people who can't hold him.
push him away from crowd and hold aganst rail "(whispers) Mess around and hit me"
cops hand cuff. he still charging VP in cuffs.

I have to go. My shoulder, hand, back etc are killing me. Must go see Dr.:D

These chirren are so convinced that I don't have good sense, even the so called bad ones will tell other ones who try to jump bad (because they don't know), "Uh, she ain't the one, dude/girl/whoever."

That little mofo would come back in my class with the full knowledge by the administration that if he tries to get new with me, I'ma hang a chair around his fukking NECK. If they wanted to leave him in my class after that, it would be an "is what it is" type situation.
U got me thinking what my kids think about me. My guess...

"U can get away with things with Mr A. If he gets quiet and gets that look, leave him the F along. He will kick your azz"

Now I am going to tell my business. i was a prin in KC. I kid hit me. (I think.) He ran (he could not beat me up, but he could not out run me.) I do not know how many stitches it took in that gash in his head.
he went to the hospital I went to a prinicpalship in Arkansas.

See I do not flow like that. You will stay in a child's place or you get the F away from me. As I told him each of the four times he sayed he wanted to kick my ass "You need to get started". Once he said it after I walked to the door. I told the VP I need to add more to the referral, which means i had to stand next to the kid. I then told him. There is nothing I need to add. I just wanted to give you the chance to kick my ass if you feel the need.

I have a kid who thinks he's alpha male in my class. I write him up everyday and request he be sent to another class. Nothing. He MIGHT get two days of ISS for WHATEVER he does. And he's not the only one, most of my 9th graders are lazy. My grade book is pockmarked with zero's. My first year teaching and I'm so dissapointed and what's worse is that I'm teaching at my alma mater. I really DO care about these kids but all I get is "why are doing work today"...."why are we doing this"......"write me up, I don't care"......"you didn't send that kid out"....."I'll do it when I get ready" and today "You are such an immature teacher, I can't 'f'in stand you".....and THAT kid will only get 1 day of ISS. It's horrible and my mentor (who is an old lady....her grandson goes to school there) says "you take too much from these kids" and her classes are only 17 kids tops while ALL of mine are over 23 kids, plus modifications (6 a class and only 3 updated on SASI), plus 4 kids who speak NO english and 70% of my kids are discipline problems. I've actually had parents I've called say "Well, if I reprimand him/her, they're going to come back angry at you and make it worse." I'm like you, if you can't know you're a child talking to me like you're crazy is gonna get you sent out. But because I'm a young teacher, nothing gets done and the worst of my kids SWEAR they're gonna do something.:shame: But here's the deal, if I get swung on, I'm suing. I've documented EVERYTHING. They used to not give me the pink slip on my discipline slips to catalogue them so I tear them off myself first or photocopy the entire thing. Heyall and the ok kids are always on cellphones.

Where you teaching at? That sounds like a mild form of what I deal with at Smiley on the daily.

I teach at the Ridge.....ay wait a min. I told you I went to the Ridge. But yeah, it FEELS like Smiley. My aunt works with North Forest and I did my first subbing there, plus MOST of my H-Town cousins went there and one of the oldest teachers there is a cousin so I know how Smiley gets down. The Ridge ain't far off my friend.
:slap:

Forget cordial. His days in my room are over. Also, I teach in an alternative school. His ass is here for drugs, assault, attempted murder, hitting a teacher or something like that.

I'm at an alternative school as well. All I can say is don't bring that mess home with you. They sure as hell ain't thinking about us when they're out on the streets.

My administration doesn't put up with too much nonsense. The only exceptions are Special Ed kids who can do damn near anything they please with no consequences. And Special Ed ain't what it used to be. Many of them are classified that because momma's getting a check. Ain't a damn thing wrong with them a little parenting over the years wouldn't have cured.

Anywho, an interesting situation occured this week at my school. One of the most notorious students we have, physically assaulted a teacher. Word is he'll be back next week.

A little about this precious darling.

He's 17 years old and has in the past year done the following:

gotten a BJ from a middle school girl (our school is 6-12) in the restroom
pulled the fire alarm several times
pushed a teacher
cursed several teachers and administrators
refuses to follow the school dress code
pleasured himself in class
made himself hard and rubbed up against a female student, telling her "you know you want it"

and this week's edition.....when told to do his work or get out of the class, slammed his fists on the desk, jumped up and bullrushed the teacher, tackling him and sending him to the ground and against the wall

This kid's mom is the ultimate enabler. Both the kid and the mom know every single loophole in the Special Ed laws and use them to the fullest.

Don't hurt me my friend. After a day at Smiley, I sometimes don't remember what school I went to. I think the biggest thing that I see wrong in schools is the same thing I see wrong in society. There is a HUGE disconnect between this genration and the as recently as 2 generations ago.

That's the other part of the problem. I talked to a parent of a kid not in my class the other day. And she basically told me that she is tired of coming to the school for this one teacher. She said, "I know he talks. We all know he talks. Why can't she just give him his work and stop aggravating him?" I'm looking at her like :retard: .

These must be men teachers.

Someone needs to remind that dumb broad that being a "special needs person" only keeps you from the death penalty, and that is just in some states. His ass will be in prison so fast she won't know if it's Christmas or Tuesday, and she'll be somewhere bemoaning the very system she's pimping.

Silly heffa.

All these responses are pretty sad!! I could tell some war stories too but its the weekend and I aint thinkin bout none of them churin right now!!

All I can say is my school is no better to work at than yalls. Just keep your head up, bob and weave, and just do what you can with positive reinforcement...my kids are STARVING for attention of something/someone positive in there lives. Just be that someone. Pray for us all in the classroom, the road is long but the journey is worth it.

To my peers, we are amazing!

Like PNeck, I have much to tell, but it is Saturday and I'm going to my goddaughter's party. But, I will definitely share some stories later.

I commend y'all Alternative School Teachers...couldn't be me.
Love, it is the same in "regular" schools. Do persons know that in most inner-city schools:
1. High school students no longer get books issued.
2. Students sleep regularly. Just do not misbehave.
3. Gangs and gangtalk are all day.
4 Grades are GIVEN!!!
5. Most students can not multiply 12 times 10!!!
6. You can buy any drug you want
7. There are guns on campus each day.
9. Students never bring even pencil and paper.
10. Teachers are threatened and cussed each day.
11. The quickest way for a prin to get fired is to suspended too much.
12. Sex especially oral is common place.
13 Teacher studentsex is common place.
14. Never ask a child to read. It is not fair to embarass them.
It goes on and on.
Hey, teachers, what else is on the list?

Sounds like my old highschool. Samething different date I guess.

15. The tardy bell is like the 2 minute warning in football. You know it's there for a reason, you just don't know what the reason is.

I went to an alternative school for students who wanted to learn (some districts refer to them as magnet schools). You had to take a test to get in. Being put on a waiting list was a common thing. We didn't experience any of those issues at my school. The school was public and it worked. One thing I realize is that peer pressure is powerful. At my school, people where looked down upon if you took "easy" courses and/or didn't get involved in any school activities or organizations. Fights, if any, where extremely rare.

I haven't kept up with it, but I heard a lot of changes happen. I don't think they require students to take test to get in anymore.

17. Class doesn't exist during the playoffs.
18. Teacher is written up for giving too many kids F's.

must've gone to Ramsey? my cousins went there in the early/mid 90s, my mommy wanted me to go, i took the test got in and beggggggged her not to make me go. sorry, i couldn't fathom being in that band.

19. Two 8th grade boys can run a train on a 7th grade girl. At least "it wasn't another boy" (according to one mother)

20. (this hea is a story) I gave my kids an independent research assignment for Black History Month. Gave them a detailed rubric, and a paper to sign where they KNEW that the whole thing was worth TWO project grades, and that if they didn't do it, they would NOT pass the 5th six weeks. So, needless to say, I had chirren who didn't do it, and are now flunking. Parents can check children's grades via an online gradebook. Now, parents are e-mailing, calling, etc. wanting to know, "Why is little Johnny flunking your class?"

Sir/Madam,

***** is failing Language Arts because he failed to turn in a project
that was done in two parts - a written portion and a cereal box project. He/She had 2 and half weeks to complete it. The specifics of the project were gone over in class, as well as the rubric by which he/she would be graded, and he/she chose his topic in class. In addition, he/she signed a form
indicating that he/she understood that the project was worth two project
grades. The topic he/she chose was _____________________.

CYA! CYA! CYA!

My cousin has been subing in the EBR parrish. Well, she's had X pills as well as weed shown to her by students. MP3 players and IPODS are the norm in the classes. The kids get up and try and dance during class, they comb hair (beauty shop) in class, and of course sleep in class.

The drugs part was the only thing that shocked me.

I ran into a former student yesterday. He's a successful drug dealer in his hometown now. He's done 9 months in jail, and made two babies since leaving school two years ago.

Last spring, I saw him in Wal-Mart and asked him for some money to go to Miami for spring break. He surprisingly gave me $50. I thanked him kindly and told him to stop selling.

Again, saw him yesterday, told him thuis year it's Vegas. He gave me $100 to gamble for him. I told him to stop selling and I'd do my best.

He's so dumb. I wish these kids well. They don't want sh!t out of life anyway.

Wait a minute...:lmao: You got money from the child, each time you saw him, huh?
