I was just about to say....

Broadway going to A&T had to be about going back EAST becasue if A&T was offering $230K, that is no different than what he was making in Grambling when you consider cost of living. I am not sure what he is making at Grambling but I am sure he makes more than Comegy does at $186K. ..and with Broadway getting incentive money, he had to be making close to $230 anyway.

Also, why would he leave Grambling and go to a place with APR restrictions.
Also, we have followed A&T athletics for a minute. Those are some cheap mofos. That is why they are in the shape they are in. They had Fobbs making $165K but he had to also be the OC.

Finally, why leave Grambling for A&T. A&T is not in good football shape. :smh:
 
A&T needs to go ahead and hire Maynor or Asberry and call it a day. This is turning into a true dog and pony show. Say what you want about JSU but everytime we have had a coaching change since I was born, we knew who we wanted to be the next Head Coach before the previous coach was fired or resigned. A&T never does that.
 
I think Broadway did that for an extension and he probably got another raise. Had a feeling A&T couldn't match what Grambling is paying him. Can't wait to see what's said in the Press Conference at Noon. O well, the winning will continue, that's inevitable with or without him.

He has only been given one extension. After his first year (when FAMU made its offer) an extra year was added to his contract. That was it. The only raise he got was the raise he was contractually obligated to get in year two. He would have gotten it with or without that extension. I am not aware of what the details are on this new deal.

Broadway's contract has been restructured and is not a four-year extension; it is only a one-year extension to the three years left on his original contract.

However, his contract is more lucrative.

Starting this year, he will make $170,000, which is $14,000 more than his old deal, and in the last year of his contract, in 2011, he will make $215,000.

If somehow Broadway is terminated, there are options: He will get the remaining salary of the current year and a payment equal to the last year of his contract,$ 215,000, or he can be reassigned a different place on campus and remain there until his deal expires.

His incentives contracts have been also raised. He will make $7,500 for playing Division IA teams (he made $5,000 in his old deal), $6,000 for winning the Bayou Classic ($3,000 in his old deal), $5,000 for winning the SWAC West Division title ($3,000 in his old deal) and $7,500 for winning a conference crown and an undisclosed amount for finishing in the Football Conference Subdivision (Division IAA) Top 10, Coach of the Year, awards and academic performance of his players.
