I watched the press conference today. Love his attitude and wish him well.

If he can turn PV into a FCS powerhouse, the whole conference will benefit from it!

Prairie View A&M introduced its new head football coach on Tuesday, and Tremaine Jackson made it clear what his ambition is as the new Panther In Charge.

I agree with you, but I wouldn't count Sam Shade out. He was brought in to build our program. I will not say he will win the SWAC his first year, but he will build our program with talent from the state of Alabama. Jackson is a beast and I hate we didn't get him but I'm glad we got Shade who has Alabama roots and understands how to win and recruit the state.
 
starts with "elite" funding at the end of the day as you gotta be able to maintain that consistency no matter who is coaching - Rod Broadway had A&T on that track and even Washington at the beginning but it fell off quickly as something happened

most of the top FCS schools are state flagship schools and aren't getting kids way down in the pecking order or can attract diverse students - that's the first thing you gotta address as we won't even discuss NIL
 
I think he is a great coach…. Now I dont really think he understands what he is getting himself into. Valdosta is a large D2 school with over 11k students and has a tradition of winning no matter who has been coaching them. Valdosta is known as TITLETOWN due their tradition in high school and college football. PV is going to be little different for him.

that's called a system - they plug and play - regardless of who is the AD or head coach

the closest we've seen to that is TSU mens basketball as every coach who has been there has won some sort of a title every decade

Football wise PV has a good thing going as the last 2 coaches won division titles but there's been a difference when it's time to play the incarnate words but their private and do things different

With a 40-12 record, I think he will be more than talk. Looking at the coaches and players he already brough, I'm expecting some things to be different on the Hill.

In the last decade or so, PV has beaten out of conference FCS programs like Lamar, SFA, HCU, Incarnate Word, East Texas A&M , Nw State and has scheduled and competed with SHSU (should've won), Nicholls, ACU,etc. The opportunities are there. Like you said, you have to beat them consistently.

Tremaine Jackson and his staff are waking up a sleeping giant.

That was my problem with Maynor. He started off winning out of Conference games FCS and then he just dropped off Maynor is actually a decent coach but I think he got comfortable.
