We've gotten 14 D1 xfers so far and 2 highschool kids. Probably sign about 15/20 highschool kids and bring in some grad xfers over the summer like last year.
How many scholarships yall have available?

14 plus 2 plus 15 is 31.

Thought cap was 25

I would advise people to be careful with all those transfers. Because, sometimes, you might get a dud -instead- of a diamond.
We have over 40 plus freshmen on the roster (9 of which started last season) and graduate 27 guys. Need experienced players for balance since we are bringing in an additional 15/20 freshmen this year. About 80% of the transfers we brought in last year were ballers. We failed at 2 positions..OL and Kicker. Both should be rectified this year. Fixing the defense was the area of focus last season

He will need some offensive lineman to take the pressure off QB1. Because, they will need to establish a running game on this year.

I think @NastyD and I talked about this once or twice. I liked what Shadeur did this season, but sometimes I cringed at him getting hit so much.

The linemen he needs and we all want those don't get into the portal -

that's where I blame us as a race for spending all this time on developing skill guys, etc when there are tons of kids who can develop into quality linemen to increase their career plans

Look at the fcs powers and see the color of the linemen

I coach o and d line at a Fort Bend middle school. You would think you asked these kids to cut off something by their response to trying out in those positions ...

They aren't sexy but they sure are fun! You essentially get to fight every weekend and get to eat some good food! Not to mention that Offensive Linemen are typically the smartest guys on the whole team. ***sighs***

I tell my wife my formula for average intelligence for football at the snap:

The closer they are to the ball at the time of the snap ... generally the smarter the player.

Me personally: I love trench work. Hell we all know that's where games are won and lost.

I really think he could've thrown for more yards with a solid running game keeping defenses honest and forcing one-on-ones on the outside.
No doubt about it. The last 4 opponents just started to drop 8 in coverage since we couldn't run. TC adjusted against PV with the TEs but of course he wasn't the OC in the Celebration bowl. The line this year should be mostly Primes instead of mostly Hendrick.
