I think TC is doing all this before his term expires in the December of this year. Personally, I don't care, as long as he is putting up his money. I think TC is trying to match what the Valdry family in Los Angeles is doing with the Valdry Center for Philanthropy at SU, which is currently under construction right next to Southern's campus, but the Valdry family has way more money than TC.
Also, at one time, TC proposed to move Grambling under the SU System. IMO, if that would have happened, TC would have branded his named all over Grambling's campus.

IMO, I think TC's real goals were to pickup where RWE Jones (Prez Jones) left off, which is the reason why he tried to move Grambling under the SU System during his time as a board member on the SU System Board. TC really wanted to be the next RWE Jones at Grambling. I'm sure he would have gotten a lot of stuff named in his honor. But like I previously stated, as long as he is paying for the stuff himself, I really don't care. IMO, TC should spend more of his millions on SU, which he made after being the lead prosecuting attorney who successfully convicted Derrick Todd Lee on the murder of seven women, Baton Rouge's Black serial killer from 1992 to 2003.

I guess some of us refuse to use Google Earth or some GIS based system to see the VISUAL status of certain projects.
Below is a Google Earth VISUAL imagery dated 11/14/17 of the concerned project. I'm sure if you can find Baton Rouge's GIS system, it might have a more recent imagery of that site.

It is my opinion that TC was going to leave his mark one way or another and he thought that he could easily get that done by placing Grambling under the SU System when Jindal was governor. You have to remember, UNO had just moved over from the LSU System to the UL System. As I stated before, as long as TC is spending his own money, I really don't care. I'm sure Grambling would have named something in his honor if he had given them a few millions to do so.

Was he an athlete????? It seems to me with all of his political clout he would build and implement a governmental studies program or research consortium. Even expand SU's.....
I think one of HBCUs biggest problems is we place a lot of emphasis on the successes of our athletic programs and not as much on those who are achieving after college having been provided the tools to make our universities great.

Instead of joining SU's Alumni or some support foundation, TC is like an one man show. He is a very self-aggrandizement type person. Sad thing, he is also a member of my fraternity, which should not be characteristics of an OMEGA MAN. But Southern University does have alums who support the academic side of the university, such as the Valdry family who donated $1 million dollars toward the Valdry Center for Philanthropy at Southern University, which would be the first of its kind at an HBCU. They are a low key family who is very generous to Southern University. When I lived in Los Angeles and was a member of the Los Angeles Alumni Chapter, I had the pleasure to meet them when they gave a reception at their home for then Congressman Cleo Fields as the chapter's guest speaker at an alumni event in Los Angeles. TC will never be on their level.
