Tony Clayton Plaza

Instead of joining SU's Alumni or some support foundation, TC is like an one man show. He is a very self-aggrandizement person. Sad thing, he is also a member of my fraternity. But Southern University does have alums who support the academic side of the university, such as the Valdry family who donated $1 million dollars toward the Valdry Center for Philanthropy at Southern University, which would be the first of its kind at an HBCU. They are a low key family who is very generous to Southern University. When I lived in Los Angeles and was a member of the Los Angeles Alumni Chapter, I had the pleasure to meet them when they gave a reception at their home for then Congressman Cleo Fields as the chapter's guest speaker at an alumni event in Los Angeles. TC will never be on their level.

NICE!!!!!

I love GSU's Bring it Home and GAP Funding.....we have Legends Square (Grocery Store, Hibbets, Dollar Tree and room for other stores) and not one of those guys fiscally contributed to it....so people in the community began to complain that it was becoming a GSU athlete memorial...they started naming local individuals as Legends because Grambling is more than just sports.

Not a fantasy when it is of my opinion and a strong opinion at that. Some Gramblinites felt the same way, which is why they put up such a strong resistance as shown in the link below.

Also, TC once tried to kick Grambling out of the Bayou Classic.

It is my opinion that TC was going to leave his mark one way or another and he thought that he could easily get that done by placing Grambling under the SU System when Jindal was governor. You have to remember, UNO had just moved over from the LSU System to the UL System. As I stated before, as long as TC is spending his own money, I really don't care. I'm sure Grambling would have named something in his honor if he had given them a few millions to do so.
lol

A message board is your evidence? Next you will be posting video from local barbershops. lol

We know y’all let Tony say or do whatever he wants if he gives you money. He has no power or authority over us. If he donate millions of dollars to assist with building a building, we would go through the same process everyone else does to have a building named or renamed. We would not take a single dime for him to building a monument to self that doesn’t have a single iota of reference to a single championship team. According to that other dude who thinks anything in powder blue is special, you have plenty of champions to recognize. Can you at least present them in the Tony Clayton’s Championship Plaza? Or is that not allowed? I mean. That is the point, right?

I was just trying to give you some insight of TC's mentality. IMO, he was gunning for GSU as a means of his own personal recognition. And I did post articles from actual news sources, but I guess you have selective reading. Also, don't act like Grambling won't name something after TC if he presented them a check of $1 million dollars.

TC began this GSU hate when he was prosecuting a guy that Rick represented. that was aired on Investigation Discovery....from what I understand/remember the case was thrown out. Since TC has had some form of hate for GSU. Dude acts like a vindictive woman.

I think of him as the "Doug Williams of SU." LOL

After December 31st, TC will be history. I'm pretty sure Governor John bel Edwards won't appoint him to another state board.

Good to have new facilities, monuments, buildings, etc. on campus.

But I really don't care for the man. I think he has "Trump" like mentality and wants everything to be about him.

Let me first say congrats. You’ve earned it. Maybe it will be enough for you to keep a women’s basketball coach in the future. I know it wasn’t enough to also put Southern’s actually name on it but I’m sure you will correct that administrative error after TC is dead. lol
You have no clue lmao. If SU wanted to keep Pugh they would have.

You do realize SU has a governmental studies program, it started this year They changed the name of the Nelson Mandela school. They are also working with most state governments in the South in a federal government internship program in public policy

Good job....I'm not an alum of SU so I don't keep up with SU's programs. I just believe our universities should do more to bring our academics to the forefront.

Didn't this guy get caught with prostitutes years ago?

GL!

He put that settlement money toward his bid for Mayor. LOL
