The Walking Dead Mid-Season Premier

I really think that Carol might become the eventual leader of the Hilltop. In the comics, Maggie grows tired of living in Alexandria and moves to the Hilltop, eventually becoming the new leader. I first thought they were setting Carol up to be killed off, but after some thinking I really believe they're going to have her take Maggie's role as the leader of the mostly non-violent Hilltop. If they were going to kill her off, it would have made 0 sense to make a stone cold killer and tactician suddenly go soft only to kill her off.

I should have known that they weren't going to kill Abraham like they did in the comics. Have to question why Rick allowed the only doctor in town to go out exploring knowing that there was an impending threat from the Saviors out there? And Morgan has shaken Carol's spirit so much that she needs a break from the group.
They really didn't have a choice, she threatened to go even if she had to go on her own. The issue was when Daryl, Rosita, and Denise took the railroad as a way back to the car. Which when Daryl said he didn't want to take the tracks the first time, we knew something was going to happen. We just didn't think it would be that serious. Oh and some "fans" are upset that Denise died from an arrow through the eye (never mind it went through her entire head), where as Carl survived a bullet through the same eye, the thought is it had to do with her being a lesbian. I agree. Doctors in this time are like money now!!!!

Honestly I don't where they are going because the show is damn near only 30% of the comics.

I understand.

Well they obviously didn't read the comics because Carl gets shot and survives and Abraham takes the arrow and dies in the comics. Aren't Aaron and his gay lover both still alive? Carl is a G, he's taken 2 bullets already, and hasn't even gone through puberty yet. lol

Where is the little chick Carl was about to get jiggy with?

You asked about her, and they finally showed her again.

Going to be very interesting to see how they end the season. I think it's clear that either Carol or Morgan will be killed or won't return to the group since they are completely separate from everyone else. Also I think that one of the 4 captured in the woods might also get killed. Darryl was shot, but he will probably survive. No way they kill off their most popular character without him getting revenge on Dwight. The way they've been foreshadowing things, I think Glenn will be killed. Just so many different things from him being the only person seeing the photos of the faces being bashed by Negan, to Maggie having stomach pains right as Glenn was in danger.

I'm going with Abraham. Also, I am happy right now because my favorite character survived. lol

Mullet Guy or Carl

Remember when Neagan said "Wow he took it like a champ." Now if he beat the hell out of Carl with a bat you know Rick is going over the deep end. In the comics it was Glenn.

Well after reading more about Neagan it is hard to say it was Carl. The story line between him and Carl will go so much deeper. In the story it was Glenn but after really thinking about the script last night I feel it was Eugene. There seemed to be a send off for Eugene.

Yea I don't think it will be Glenn...I think they are going to stray from the comic on this one. It is either Eugene, Abraham, or Carl. Could be Eugene because just like in the comic he already gave Rick the instructions to make bullets. That plus the whole "send off" they gave him earlier in the episode has me leaning towards him. It could be Abraham though with the "could we do what Maggie and Glenn are doing" conversation he and Sasha had in the RV. And it could be Carl based on Negan's conversation about him being Rick's son, etc.. But who knows....this season was pretty close to the comics as it could be with the characters that are already dead or don't exist in the show vs the comic and vice-versa. But I don't want it to be Glenn. I want them to change the story and let him and Maggie raise the baby on the Hilltop together. Put I am a sucker for love lol

I don't think it was Carl. Remember before he started, he stated that if anyone moved that they were going to put another hole in the kid's eye. It's either Abraham or Glenn.

Whomever it is they have in Rick's words "fucked with the wrong group."

Negan does not allow the men to screw their women. From the comics they are his wives. This will get real interesting.

The new group that helped Carol will be interesting also.

Not to mention that Negan knows that Rick would have 0 reason to cooperate with them if they killed Carl(since Negan doesn't know about Judith).

One thing was different though, Abraham was the one that got shot in the eye with the crossbow in the Comics. That whole, "took it like a champ" statement pretty much rules out all of the women. No way any of them could take a swing from that bat and not be instantly knocked out, plus I don't think AMC would dare show a woman getting beat by a barbed wire bat by a man on TV. So to me that rules out Michonne, Maggie, Rosita, and Sasha. I think we all know that Rick and Carl are safe. I think Negan actually sees something that he likes in Carl. There's no way the show would kill off Darryl (easily the most popular character) before he got his revenge on Dwight. So that leaves Glenn, Abraham, and Eugene.

If you follow the comics Negan has some form of strong respect for Carl. He called him the "little serial killer"....that was classic. I think it is Abraham.

We know it isn't a female, because Negan said "he took it like a champ!" so we know that rules out a female, plus I agree with the idea that AMC wouldn't kill a woman like that.
I don't think it's Rick, he is the "main character" of the story. No Rick, no leader, no story at least not at not yet.. And Negan told the Survivors that if someone moved to cut Carl's other eye out and feed it to Rick.
I don't think it's Carl, again too pivotal to the story line. and I agree with the whole Negan has a sort of respect for Carl. Also like someone said he told them to cut Carl's other eye out and feed it to his father.
I don't think it's Abraham, otherwise he would have taken him up on his offer when he first stood up, plus I think the writers wanted to throw us off with the Sasha foreshadowing.
I don't think it's Glenn, only because Negan had an opportunity to take out Glenn when he went to help Maggie. ( I might be wrong if they are trying to get back to the comics in some fashion.)
I don't think it's Daryl, because Daryl has some pay back to give to one of the Survivors.
I don't think it's Eugene, because when they were saying good bye the group expected him to get captured/killed while he lead the Survivors away and I think Eugene giving Rick the formula for making bullets was used to throw us off.
That leaves some one who is not a main character and I don't think is really pivotal to the overall story line and would not be a significant loss to the group and that is...Aaron. Rick didn't want him to go initially and Aaron told Rick he'd have to punch him to keep him from going. So no foreshadowing, which makes it a great way to throw others off the scent.

I don't think it has to be a "big" main character to be devastating to the fans.

Yea that's true. I remembered he was dead in the comic, but forgot how he died. But yea I definitely agree about Abraham and Eugene being the stronger options with everything that happened in that episode. If they left us with that cliff hanger simply to have it go the same as it did in the comic (glenn meeting lucille), then I am going to be mad lol

I really like that logic about Aaron, but we also know that AMC isn't afraid to kill off a main character. We shall see. I'm not opposed at all to Aaron being killed off, but I am still thinking it is Eugene or Abraham. Guess we will know in six months lol

Wow, I forgot all about Aaron. lol

The gay community would be mad though. They already were upset that they killed Denise, breaking up her relationship with Tara( remember her? lol). I can only imagine their fury if another gay character got brutally murdered.
