The BEST NFL Black Quarterback?

I really like Micheal Vick as a player, probably better than any other player from an entertaining and potential standpoint. However, when someone stated that Atlanta does not do timing patterns, I see this statement to be very true. The very fact that they don't do these timing patterns may not be Vick's fault. I guess he does not trust the receivers and maybe with good reason. I guess the Atlanta coaches does not trust the receivers because they do not force the issue of timing patterns. Like all knowledgeable fans and players know timing is 98% of a great passing game.

It is good to have this healthy discussion. You know if I had a team I would be happy to have any of these guys as my QB (Culpepper, McNabb, McNair and Vick). Also, remember people in all occupations get better with experience. Watchout for Vick!! He will take the NFL over; with a SuperBowl ring and all. :lecture: :lecture: :lecture:

What is this about Vick not trusting his WRs? Do you really believe that? If you call a timing pattern, throw the damn ball where it is suppose to be. If the WR is not there, everyone will understand that it is not his fault.

And if I see McNabb check all the way down to his back out of the backfield one more time I will puke. That dude WILL NOT throw the damn ball down the field. The only time he lets the ball go is when he scrambles and someone gets open.

D-Nice,
Don't try to pretend like you've forgotten when the few aints fans that even bothered to show up at had bags over their heads. If there is one team that can't even begin to try to talk about the Falcons history, that team is the aints.

That is the year in which Blank bought the team. The year prior, the attendance average was about 53,000. That is why Blank cut season ticket prices.

ATLANTA (June 20, 2002) -- The Atlanta Falcons cut prices on some season tickets, making it possible to see all 10 home games for as little as $100.

That's still over 20K more than the 30K figure you threw out.

And Blank lowering the tickets that year was smart marketing.

anyway, all of that is in the past. The FALCONS are an up and coming team, fresh off a championship appearance. The cowboys can't even make the playoffs.

Dude.....ooooooh Lawd

Here come them damn fair weather fans again. Can GR stomach this mess this year. GR guesses everyone is a Falcon fan now. Please dont begin to compare the Cowboys to the damn Fallcons. Try this...try having 2 winning seasons in a row and then come and talk to the Cowboys. GR takes that back....have two winning seasons in a row and then start talking to the Bucs or someone like that. The FallCONS? man please....

Up and coming...aint everybody up and coming? Everybody has a next year.

Bruh, that is average. That means some games had to be below 53K and some above 53K to get 53K as an average. So 30K is still possible.

Well see in a year or two how smart it is. I don't think lowering your season tickets by $230 is smart. You are attracting a different buyer. Once you get that ticket back up to $350, you lose that season ticket holder.

Season ticket holders are generally people who buy the tickets no matter how well the team is doing. Green Bay waiting list is more than 10 years long. Cleveland season ticket holders had to pay $15,000 for the seat before they could buy the tickets.

What Blank did was only a band-aid fix.

Obviously, you aint referring to me kid.
mh has always been a FALCONS fan. Even as a young tyke, mh was a FALCONS fan. Even during the down years, mh was a FALCONS fan. Even when we couldn't beat anybody but the damn aints, mh was a FALCONS fan!

I was a FALCONS fan when being a FALCONS fan wasn't cool.

and yeah, everybody has a "next year", but everybody aint got the young athletes that the FALCONS have.

Riiiiiight!!!! Im sure Isaac Bruce and Torey Holt and Hakim and Warner and Faulk were relatively young for the Rams at one time. Dude, the window to be successful in the NFL is very small. It didnt take long for the NFL to catch up with the formula to stop the Rams. They were suppose to dominate the NFL for years to come. The same goes for teams with great defenses...have the Ravens been back to the playoffs? Teams with Gimmick offenses like the Falcons wont last long at all. Im sure every team in the NFC is going over the Falcons Bucs tape right now to find out how the Bucs just embarrass that ass every year.

But...more power to you...I hope you are still a fan next year.

Of course, I'll be a fan next year. Win, lose, or draw
No bandwagon here.

and I guess "every team in the NFC" haven't been "going over the Falcons/Bucs tape" before now, huh?
:smh:

btw, teams can pick out any number of Cowboys games and see how the other team embarrassed the hell out of them. Wait til the cowboys can get to .500, then talk.

This conversation is a mad circle. One thing GR will NOT do is argue with a johnny come lately FallCON fan. GR could tell you that the you team should try be be like this:

trophies.jpg

Just sniff ONE before you talk about the greatest sports Franchise on the face of the Earth.....

Try to get to the SB without getting embarrassed just one time OK?

...and then you would probably remark about how good the Falcons are going to be next year. But then again, GR could say the same thing. hhhmmm The Great One Guesses that we are not that even after all. Oh well....

I will not venture to say that the Dirty Birds will develop a dynasty because that is a complex task. What I will say is that the excitement is certainly back in the ATL. I believe the marketing schemes and improved personnel (front office and field) has been the catalyst. The Georgia Dome and sports bars are full these days. The radio sports waves are hot. The team will have a brutal schedule next year and season tickets will peak. All of the aforementioned is great for the city. The challenge for all franchise is winning consistency. I believe that the ATL are a few players away from being of championship caliber. We shall see very soon if those needs are met. No one denies that Dallas has a good history. Unfortunately, it does not appear that they are going in the right direction.

Dynasty? OOOOOH Lawd

And thanks for bringing that up Rock.

ATL played a last place schedule this year. Just wait til next year when they have to play a first place schedule.

Carolina Panthers send help.

One can develop a dynasty without a storied history. I believe that New England is on the verge of doing that. The key is winning multiple championships which Atlanta has yet to do. Can it happen.........yes. Are the odds against it happening........yes.

BTW, again you must not look at pro football too often. I don't believe anyone wanted to face a healthy Carolina team at the end of this season. Mr. Pepper is a........beast!

GR watches a lot of football...enough to know that most of the times team rise when they have what is called a last place schedule. San Diego is going to catch hell too next season. Teams often rise off their last place schedule. The next year, they go right back where they belong. New England did it after their first SB win.

GR hopes the Falcons do well, he hopes Vick rushes for 2000 yards next year... all he is saying is, have 2 winning seasons in a row in the HISTORY of the program before the word DYNASTY passes your lips.....that is all.

Your reading skills must be lacking. I stated that: "I will NOT venture to say that the Dirty Birds will develop a dynasty because that is a complex task."

Stop trying to play those country games. (step away from the key board and the table)

GR read what you said. Instead of trying to cover your silly statements with an even dumber joke, you should read what GR said. GR said dont even let that word come out of your mouth. You dont deserve to be in the neigborhood of that word. Try another word....like....uuuuh consecutive....or sequential.

Such evil adjectives.............JROCK believes TGO has eaten himself into oblivion.

MH, I'm not comparing histories, because outside of your lone superbowl appearance, your history is just as bad as the Saints. You only have 10 winning seasons in your 39 year history, so if laughing at the Saints makes you feel good, then so be it, but the fact remains, bags, or not, our fanbase is a helluva better than yours.

Again, there are more Vick fans living in Atlanta than there are Falcon fans, I hate to harp on it, but last year, every game was sold out, but the moment Vick got hurt, the stadium was full to capactiy until he came back.

JR, I'm not disputing Dante's ability, but Donovan has been in 4 straight NFC Championship games in a row, and the one NFC Championship game Dante made it to, they got blanked 41-0 to the Giants. That can't be all on the defense.

I like Dante just as much as the next person, but he has way more talent around him, than Donovan does, and like your comparison to Peyton, Tom Brady has less around him, but he knows how to make plays.

It's a big difference when talking about losing the conference championship game 3 years in a row, then explaining going 2-7 down the stretch for 2 straight years, and missing the playoffs one of those years, and backing into it the following year.

Sorry bruh, but Donovan gets the nod everytime.

NICE

Actually GR, the NFL did away with the so-called last place schedules when the divisions were realigned. Now all teams in a particular division have 14 common opponents, the differences in schedules is far less pronounced.

Um, Gee Arrah...you must've forgot about the infamous "Desperate Houswives" Monday nighter when McNabb put on a show in Texas Stadium. He was throwing it all over Dallas' inferior secondary (3/4 of it suck now, except for Roy Williams-Rowland). Especially that play when they timed McNabb not being sacked and 14.6 seconds later unleasing one to Freddy (Krueger) Mitchell 50 yards downfield.

In case you forgot, the West Coast offense employs short routes and passes to the backs, depending on the matchup. Hell if I had a RB like Westbrook, I'd check down to him matched up against a linebacker any day of the week.

But you're right, the Falcons, I mean, the Vicks will have a tougher run next year. The Chargers had a decent division and the AFC was better as a whole.

SIDE NOTE: JagNation99....you're right...they play 14 times against common opponents..and here how it breaks down. The divisions rotate every 3-4 years or so.

A team plays the 3 in their division twice, 4 in another NFC division and 4 in an AFC division.....other two games are random teams within that conference..

EXAMPLE: The Saints and Falcons (Vicks) both played the entire NFC West (St. Louis, Arizona, Seattle and San Fran) and AFC West (Oakland, Denver, San Diego and KC)..along with the other teams in their division..

ATL played Detroit and the Giants as the other two games and the Saints played Dallas and Minnesota.
