RISING STARS
CB SEAN HILL, MVSU, SOPH.
RB JATAVIOUS ABRAMS, ALABAMA STATE, SOPH.
DB MICHAEL DAIGRE, GRAMBLING STATE, JR.
Very good football player...heavy hitting strong safety...2nd on team in tackles in 2002...good work ethic...former walk-on

QB JAMES ADAMO, PRAIRIE VIEW A&M, FR.
WR TORREY ROSS, JACKSON STATE, JR.
OT JONATHAN BANKS, GRAMBLING STATE, SOPH.
Has the potential to be one of the best offensive linemen in the SWAC since Jackie Slater...6'8" 350lbs with great strength and agility...former high school basketball/football player...intially signed with LSU but refused to go to juco

OL GEORGE HESTER, PRAIRIE VIEW A&M, FR.
OL KEVIN HARRIS, ALABAMA STATE, JR.
RS LONNIE TEAGLE, ALCORN STATE, JR.
WR CALVIN COLQUITT, GRAMBLING STATE, JR.
This dude is the most underrated receiver in the country...good speed, great ability to run after the catch, excellent down field blocker, good pass catching skills. Overlooked due to the emergence of Tramon Douglas and the now departed Thyron Anderson last season
DB KEVIN MOFFETT, SOUTHERN, JR.
DB ERLIN SANDERS, ALABAMA STATE, SR.

Swami made some mistakes.
1st and 2nd Team
DE Brian Evans, AAMU, Sr.
RS Nick Wells, AAMU, Sr.
RB Jeremiah Bonds, AAMU, ??
DB Levernonte Turner, AAMU, Jr.
DB Henry Freeman, AAMU, Sr.

Rising Stars
TE Deshalen Barber, AAMU, Fr.
WR Jokton Roberts, AAMU, So.
WR Walter Shearls, AAMU, So.

Freeman and Turner should no doubtably have been on this list. At least one of them. I left some others off the list because they will be heavilly challenging for the starting spot come August.

You know what bluenation, if nothing else, thats the one thing that JSU and SU should agree upon. I don't think it has been one like '99 since. I just want a different outcome.

Check out the three GSU players listed as "Rising Stars"... I feel that each of these will jump to first team (at least 2nd team) by season's end. Of the Three, Daigre will make the biggest leap...I wouldn't be surprised if he's not named Defensive MVP. He's the leading returning tacklers, caused several fumbles and returned at least two for scores, and has a knockout blow from his strong safety position. Really tough up near the line of scrimmage, takes on blockers with good leverage and upper body strength.
NFL prototype (6'3", 215lbs, 325 pound bench and 4.5 forty time).

Not bad for a former walk-on!

PS: This is one of "my boys"...been talking Grambling to him since he was on my 9yr old youth team!
