Swac NIL and Collectives

I truely believe each school has to approach this the best way that works for the school… if What JSU is doing works for them then keep doing it… I’ve seen what schools like Georgia State are doing with NIL… and it’s TOUGH for us to come anywhere close to that … and its just GA STATE. But each school knows what works best for their school and has to use it for their advantage. We may have to think outside the box… for example I truely dont believe any SWAC school has better living conditions than AAMU athletes. All athletes stay off campus in nice luxurious apartments that arent more than a year old. Apartments that start off at 2k in Huntsville (thats a lot for Huntsville) .

I remember you telling me that. That's definitely a recruiting edge

How you gone tell me who's gone 😆 🤣. You don't know our roster nor know who we got on NIL. As I stated earlier, 80% of those kids are still here.

That's the fault with you bottom dwellers. Absolutely no vision and short sighted. Contributing to your school's collective doesn't stop your programs from getting the basics and or facility upgrades. You can still do BOTH 😆.

Continue to fall behind into obscurity.

How do you know who knows what? All schools recruit the same kids or come in contact with several - a player may be eating banana pudding or helping to clean the greens right now next me 🤣

trust me everyone knows what's going on

Again. You don't know the kids WE have on NIL. Your "dumb" statement that they were gone is all the evidence needed

This. Also, fans now being asked to directly pay a salary to a revolving door of players is going to fundamentally change the relationship between players & fan for the worse.

What percentage of Collective money actually goes to the players vs " administration costs or overhead? Is it disclosed ? Does the coaching staff decides or consults about who gets what or how much?

How much are kids typically getting? Just curious.... if you know.

There's no transparency with these sketchy collectives. They'd rather fear monger loyal fans into paying not so loyal athletes & the characters that run these collectives , but answer few questions. " You're going to get left behind if you don't give us more money " doesn't resonate with us who aren't as emotionally invested in these young semi- pro athletes.

SU getting ready to make a announcement of their collective that will mirror Bayou Tradition at LSU
Good shyt. Let these other folks continue to get lost in the sauce. Winning is directly tied to money. It's no secret why our football program dominated the way they did. Now those funds are stretching to other sports.

These collectives ain’t just about giving players money because some of ours aren’t getting any money at all. Some of it is just to make sure the players are taken care of and have everything they need to survive and be successful on and off the field. Our collective is very transparent and works directly with our compliance department to make sure we stay within whatever guidelines we need too in order to maintain dominance. You have to do what works for you, your athletes, alums, and everyone involved.

Everything they need like free Tuition , free Housing, free food, free books, free Coaching , free weight rooms, access to Pro scouts & other colleges that try to poach them away? I understand it isn't life altering money or comparable to P4 schools , but this is pay for play now when you're asking fans to directly give to their " contracts". Not unreasonable to ask who gets what ? How much ? Who chooses which players get paid ? Or at the very minimum what's the overhead costs & what percentage do the players actually get?

Some players have kids to take care of. Some players are taking care of their families. Some even have other things outside of school to pay for etc, which is all what the collective is for. We are adults with jobs and life kicks our asses so that goes for them too. Just because school, food, and housing is free doesn’t mean they aren’t human beings that have other necessities like you. Anything helps. It’s quite great for you to ask any question you want to YOUR collective as far as what your money is going too, but we aren’t putting our students business out to the public of what we do for them in any way or what they are getting/getting paid, if that’s the case.

I asked above and nobody answered…. But is the collective paired with the cost of attendance stipend?

No. The collective is totally separate from University funds.
To put it into perspective: We issue 1099s to student athletes. It's basically a contracted job.

It can vary. While we see some of the black boys brag about what they get. Don't be shocked if some of those girls (not just in basketball) are getting more.

You don't see all these girls bouncing around from school to school.

And wouldn't the women at South Carolina or Notre Dame basketball teams deserve more than say Valley's men?

So how much are scholarship students getting for cost of attendance?
