SWAC memory lane !!!

The game didn't impact the SWAC much and wasn't on TV, but to me the greatest comeback was PV down by 4 with 25 seconds left and KJ Black finds a way to win it with 4 seconds left and PV who was down 27-23 with 25 seconds left, wins 35-27, that was one crazy game. Excuse the video my teenager was only 10 and he was filming because my nerves wouldn't let me film.

The MCC in 2014 was one heck of a game. At the time, I was primarily covering Alabama State, but I had to give props Alabama A&M for playing hard until the end in the comeback. And thanks for sharing my postgame report from the game. I haven't watch that video in a while.
What's up, TVSportsGuy?!

Jsu vs. Southern 2000
Due to the record setting crowds in Mumford, SU decided to move the game to New Orleans inside of SU's home away from home the Superdome. The game was a defensive slug fest from the jump. SU's Troy Williams was back from the freak accident he suffered in the Bayou Classic. He fumbled on the first play of the game and Jsu recovered. JSU's defense contained SU's passing attack and that monster Michael Hayes who destroyed Jsu in the Swac title game the previous season. Jsu prevailed with the victory. This was the 1st out of 2 wins Jsu earned over SU in the dome. However I was highly disappointed in the attendance. I just knew the game was gonna draw 50-60k but that wasn't the case.

Jsu vs. Southern 2001

This was the first Jsu/Su game I ever attended where it rained the entire game. Also this happened to be my birthday. Both bands stayed in the stands during halftime. It was a pretty tight game all the way. I remember Robert Kent picking on SU's corner Cody Smith Robinson from SU all game and Robinson continuously being called for pass interference. I recall Jsu being up leaving Su with one last opportunity. Terrance Levy (RIP) scrambled to get out of bounds and lateraled the ball out of bounds as time expired. Pete Richardson showed his 40 time and hawked down the refs demanding another play but the game was over. FInal Jsu 24 Su 21

Jsu vs. Grambling 2007
This was my senior year at Jsu and the second time Jsu played Grambling on tv that season. Grambling defeated Jsu in Jackson but the rematch was for all the marbles in the Swac title game in Birmingham. Gsu handled Jsu throughout the first half, but Jimmy Oliver and the offense picked up the tempo along with Jsu's defense locking down on Grambling's passing attack. It rained throughout the fourth quarter. I remember Daniel Brooks (RIP) with the pick 6 followed by Lavarus Giles with the nail in the coffin touchdown run for like 50+yards. Jsu's first Swac title since 96.
