"Leader of Kings"
Curious to see how they determine the SWAC champ in 2018 with this mandate already set.
The same way they determine it all those decades before a SCG. BY whoever has the best record I would imagine.

Were all SWAC schools playing all of the other conference schools each season? The same way they determine it all those decades before a SCG. BY whoever has the best record I would imagine.
:snicker:Remember how we were all so excited to dip from Birmingham to Houston, newer and better facilities etc. Remember how the free usage of Legion Field and all of the ancillary things that came with that free usage. Remember that $500,000 a year the City of Birmingham was providing the SWAC each year until they dipped but that $500,000 has not been replaced by the city of Houston or any other sponsors? Welp.....
Since you brought it up, what was discussed at the president's meeting last week? Please be specific and detailed. Thanks in advance.Let's just say that the "protective shield" Duer had when Wright (PV) and Rudley (TSU) were chairman of the council of presidents is now gone. It's my understanding that Rudley and Wright were rather fond of Duer. I don't think the same can be said for the existing (newer) presidents...especially after what was discussed at the last president's meeting last week.
Dude, you don't even live in Birmingham.:smh::snicker:
Dear SWAC,
Birmingham sends its regards.

Sure don't, but I had the good sense to KNOW that Bham wasn't the problem with the SCG (or the bball tournament) and those problems weren't gonna magically disappear with a move to the cure all, be all Houston.Dude, you don't even live in Birmingham.:smh:

Those chickens coming on home to roost.
carry on.....
NRG Stadium's seat capacity is 72,220. With 24,917 fans showing up last year, someone is losing money here.
Sharp said the SWAC wasn't.
"Houston did a great job of supporting the game, the two teams," he said. "We had really good crowds. I wouldn't say the game was losing money at all. I think presidents just looked at it and said, 'Do we want to continue to compete against our own bowl game?'"
well, now duer says this wasn't about money at all..... and he says no one is leaving the swac.

I do not think that Duer and Rudley were tight.
So what was the "historical" message?
Your fans were outnumbered bad in Houston by a 2-1 ratio. Your fans were the one saying that yall skipped the SCG to go to the Celebration Bowl even though the Celebration Bowl proved otherwise. The Bayou Classic is a game you know you are going to every year. Why is it not in your budget. The trip to Houston is not that expensive. I have even heard some SU fans saying they spent less money going to Houston than they did for the Bayou Classic. A trip to Houston shouldn't cost over $500 for a family of 4. Alcorn should have less fans than yall especially with yall school being almost twice as big as ours. Alcorn and JSU might get off cheaper in the Magnolia Bowl as it is a turnaround trip for 80% of the fans. I like the atmosphere for the game as the Magnolia Bowl to me is nothing but a big family. We knew the MEAC wasn't going to bring any fans to the Celebration Bowl and the only team in the MEAC with a following is FAMU.
