Southern football coach Dawson Odums wasn’t ready to release a depth chart when spring practice ended last weekend.

There’s plenty of work to be done over the summer and in fall camp before the pecking order is transferred from pencil to ink, but nonetheless Odums has seen enough to be confident he has what he needs.

He has two inexperienced but talented quarterbacks who are pushing one another to be better every day. He has an abundance of talented runners and catchers that any opponent that tries to gang up on the run or the pass will pay a price. He has a mostly set offensive line that will enhance that balance.

On defense, he has seen improvement in run defense, which was a priority for the spring, and he has as many speedy athletes defending the pass as he has handling the football on offense.

To the PV hater, besides the running backs the article named, we also have a LaTech and Troy transfer and a Kid from Edna Karr :)
 



Coach Worm Did state that he wanted to build a PROGRAM........... So let's see how this turns out.... He does seem to have the Jaguars in great position.... Hmmmmmm

Nobody is saying that but if you think just because Dray is gone that we won't compete then everyone is going to be in for a rude awakening and if you think you are going to run the table with that defense, you got another thing coming :lmao:

You might not, but everyone in Jag Nation is saying that the Jags will run over everyone in the SWAC this year, all the WRs are NFL material and that the QB is better than any QB we have every seen in the SWAC and the transfers, ohh those mean nasty tranfers are going to tear everyone heads off on defense yada, yada, yada, yada. Oh I forgot about the 160 pound defensive linemen that PV has that will never be able to run Coach Yo's defense :lol:

Who said that? What I've seen Jag fans doing is justifying our place as defending champs to folks like TP who say the loss of Dray and Doss will drop us down to the bottom of the standings next year. We are saying we STILL be good enough to compete for the title and win most of our games.

But we DO have the best WR in the conference. LOL

Has anyone from PV said this? :noidea: The only remote thing you could possibly find anyone from PV saying about our defense is that a "slight" improvement is going to help us win some extra games this year.
