John West came from Troy. He's from New Orleans ...

IMO, we'll be competitive in conference play. This year may be a transitional year for the SWAC with so many new coaches. There are so many questions surrounding teams in the conference ...
 
Every game for us will be hard...the win less teams will be bringing their A game when they play us..so we just need to be focus and treat every team in the conference as the top team, cuz believe me everyone wants to knock off the champs, and the way SU fans will be talkin shat this year (me) at these games...beating us will kill all that noise...so to me it don't matter what other teams around the conference has done or have, they could be playin with 6th graders on the field, and just got blasted 103-3 the week before, but that week they see SU on the schedule them fockers will give us hell and beyond to try and beat us LOL...so that's how I'm looking at the teams in this conference and I hope our players are doing such as well..

This +1. They all get up to play SU regardless. Us being SWAC champs just adds to the fire.

I didn't say they would. I'm not one to forget how su got totally man-handled by two out of conference schools and had one of the weakest schedules from the West since I can remember.
Now you guys are talking like you're world beaters or something. Wake up and smell the coffee.
You guys gave up an average of 50 points against teams with decent offenses in your first three games.
Your defense has to improve quite a bit before anyone can legitimately give them any respect or credibility.

Who is they? I'd think different schools get up for certain games regardless, especially if that school has a winning record.
This is su's FIRST winning season in six years dude.
At least wait until you have two consecutive winning seasons before you commence to bragging about folks getting up for a team with one winning season in six years.

And yet we went on the road and beat Alabama State, who you yourself said was right behind Jackson State. Then we came back and beat ya'll too. lol

Egggzactly. Jayrob sikes himself out so he can feel better. We can always count on jstank to slip on a banana peel when it counts.

Dude you keep harping on those 2 out of conference games. One was against a FBS level school. The defense got better as the year went on. You can look at each of the game stats as the year went by. These kids were young and had a new coaching staff as Worm brought in his own coaches for his first full year and they adjusted. No matter how bad the SWAC was in your opinion, SU did what it needed to get to the SCG. They had to win on the road with young guys and one road game without Doss even going to the game. We don't need you guys to give us any credit. Worm has the trophy to show what the team did last season.

All you can harp on is 50 points the first 3 games. In which one of the games we won. LOL. Sometimes it be that way. We had to beat Gram in a shootout in the BC in 2003 to win the West. It is what it is. The bottom line is Worm exceeded expectations by most so called experts. He has recruited well and now got some good transfers coming in and promoting the program as he is not a lazy guy. He gets it. Kids respect him and he is young enough to understand this generation being that he is a 97 NCCU grad. Dabo Swinney told folks Worm was going to do well at SU. Maybe since he is white, you should listen to him.

Bama State's defense had deteriorated as the season went on. Their defense at season's end was nothing like it was at the beginning of the year. Try again.
And we know why yall beat JSU in Houston. Your defense was still terrible, yet you guys are in here bragging on THAT?! Please. LOL!!

Dude, you had no real competition in the West. The West was the weakest it's been in 20 years. Your teams defense sucked and sucked bad. It's really funny reading how good yall THINK it's going to be this year.

How strong was the West? Come on JR, you know in your heart that su's defense was terrible. Why don't you tell those folks who are bragging on Worm's defense to just chill and wait for it to happen. You do know that seeing is believing.

What does that matter if we beat two of the top teams in the East? One for the championship. That pretty much kills that argument.

You also lost to the top team in the East. Do you think we're supposed to just erase the blowout losses during your first two games cause you won one game in OT? I think not.
You guys basically embarassed the SWAC by winning it and JSU embarassed the SWAC by losing it to a team who got totally embarassed during it's out of conference games.
