Break-in casts pall over N.C. Central victory

North Carolina Central University?s locker room at Southern University was broken into Saturday during the Jaguars? second home game, Southern Chancellor Edward Jackson said.

Kyle Serba, sports information director for North Carolina Central University, said sneakers, money, college championship football rings and electronics were taken from the team?s locker room, which is located about a fourth of a mile from A.W. Mumford Stadium.

Now this is a damn shame. What going on in BR? First the shootings, now the stealing.
 



There is no need to sue family. With the cameras over the campus grounds, we should be able to review the cameras to see who and what the activity in that area consisted of. Hopefully, that will reveal a search warrant and securing of items within the next couple of days.

Thugs are truly sad these days. Even our churches and college campuses are no longer secure from random violence/thift.

I am ashamed, as a Jaguar, to hear this.
No one deserved this at all.
This is shameful and I hope whomever commited this crime get some jail time.

Expect another increase in ticket prices next year, for all this extra security SU is going to have to pay.

I live and grow up in the heart of Scotland..:( .. I just don't understand..My wife and i walk to all the game and have never had a problem..This is a DAMN SHAME..
 
Do yall really think the SU administrators give a damn about what happened to those NC kids? Its in the water.

Just read that damn article...the whole article was about folks not being able to tailgate...damn those kids.
 
Is it a general practice/procedure for someone to monitor the locker rooms, ether inside the room or outside of the door? I smell an inside job! All schools have their individual problems, but it seems as if someone is trying to personally destroy the Southern University image.

What image might that be? The image of Cutting brake lines and selling degrees, or the image of stealing work study and FEMA money?
 
The new tailgating policy sucks. I know plenty of people that were not allowed to come on campus. Damn shame. Stop punishing the wrong folks.
 
To be honest it never has been safe going to Mumford. Never go there alone, always go in groups. SU is in the heart of the hood, plus I've seen low lifes just walk on campus without being approached. I think that it should be no student ID, no game ticket equals to no entrance. Although there are some good students at SU like every school, they have their share of thugs, just at a higher rate. This is sad, and if I were an AD at any school, I'd think twice about taking my team to Mumford until security is really "beefed up". Come on su!! And why is the locker room that far from the stadium? I'm ashamed to be associated with the SWAC right now. You are right GR they do not care about those kids belongings being stolen, but I would make sure that Su replaces everthing. Including the Championship rings!!!! A sad day for BCF.......:(
