Su 2018 Football Schedule (Tentative?)

See, young jokers from other school don't understand how intense the SU-FAMU rivalry was up until the 90's. It was the longest running HBCU rivalry. This rivalry goes way back and it was way more intense as a home and home series. Before Mumford Stadium expanded to 29k, the SU-FAMU rivalry would easily go over 30k in Mumford Stadium in the 80's and 90's, which had a maximum capacity of 24k at the time. SU would rent potable bleachers where the North End Zone seats are currently located.

I agree 100 percent. Jsu fans are still alive and well we just have made ALOT of bad hires at the HC position including Hughes. Hell just last year we averaged 19.5k still at 3-8, whereas many other swac schools garnished winning seasons at still did not equate to our average. We jsu fans still have love, support and passion for our program but we also need jsu to do a much better job MANAGING the program which includes hiring better Head Coaches. That's our only downfall.

Hell it aint nothing to do in Jackson. Thats why yall average that much during football season. Hell Memorial stadium dont get used but for 3 months out of a year! The only time my city is poppin is during football season. Shiddd when my Jags come 2 town thats just like R Kelly comin everybody from Hinds County up 2 Bolivar County comin 2 that game.

Ain’t shit to do in 90% of the cities where SWAC schools are located so that point is null and void. I wish y’all would find a different lie to tell cause this one is played out. Also, who else uses their stadium outside of football season? Smh.

Prove it?!! There aint nothing to do in 90% of the cities in the conference. Thats my point Jackson should use the stadium for other venues because it aint shit 2 do there. Other cities use there staduims for other activities. You cant compare Jackson 2 other cities in the south. Jackson is like a town compared to others in the south. Mississippi is the only place besides Arkansas who doesn't have a damn bowl game SMH!!

In 2002, the game was fine even though it was southern's home game. You do remember Kent dominating during that game and JSU winning by 3 TD's. Perhaps that's why it wasn't so hyped in your eyes, but for JSU folks, it was VERY hyped.
 
Man that 99 game in FAMU, I think it was like 28-0 or some sht.


Man from that day my ppl and I pulled up on FAMU campus or Bragg stadium, I knew sht would be brutal, we dayum near got into 4 fights tailgating and 1 in the game. Sht almost got real

How do you explain the fact that JSU's attendance is the same or even higher when southern's not our home game? There goes your argument.
For you to claim that there's nothing to do in Jackson is an excuse to try and explain away the fact that JSU folks support it's school. Heck, when does southern usually sellout Mumford? When JSU comes to town and MAYBE during homecoming. LOL!

I think they came also in the early 90s or late 80s, the kid was a baby or some sht, and all I could remember was FAMU band rocking that "Say La La" Seeing that corner over there rocking was crazy, I think, this old A.W. wasn't there a tree or something that use to hang over there by where the visitor band sits? or a branch or something

There's a reason there's not a bowl game in Mississippi, but what does that have to do with JSU's attendance? Nothing.

j st most likely can go 3-8 again and probably be in the top 5 in attendance. There's nothing in Jackson!! The only time Jackson is hyped is during football season.
