I think many people are sleeping on the Delaware State staff...I am not really familiar with the names...but apparently they can coach and recruit. DSU may end up in the Celebration Bowl...(which would be a miracle looking at where they came from...)

The win at NCCU certainly makes your point!!!

The administration has made sure they have want they want also - big difference - President is thoroughly involved

RG3 is saying on X that Tyrann Mathieu reached out to him about being the next head coach at LSU. RG3 thinks Mathieu is ready.

Although I think the Honey Badger can eventually become a great head coach for a football program, I believe it's too soon for a program like LSU. Too many factors, including race, will prevent that from happening. I do see a possible move he could make at Southern, similar to what Prime Time did at Jackson State. Mathieu knows the landscape, could be a killer recruit, and he could bring energy back to a big program looking for a boost.

Thoughts?

It's his job to lose IMO
He's on that road to losing it now
I just want to someone that wants to actually compete, not just in the SWAC, but every game.

Question? Who is doing SU contracts, because most programs have buyout or clauses. Once Dooley got hired at EWU, SU payments should have been cut.
Most of the time if they have that type of buyout it will be the difference in the contract that would be paid out. Dooley would have taken that EWU position for $1 to stick it to southern for them to pay him his money.

What Prime did will never happen again - that was once-in-a-lifetime in terms of who he was, etc. The only way we see anything that resembles that again if Strahan went to TSU or Peyton Manning went to Tennessee but their more corporate and move differently so it still wouldn't be the same

Why Mathieu isn't ready for LSU? Why SU oddly enough? He has more resources at LSU to do just 1 thing and 1 thing only - if it doesn't work then he can't blame anyone - he played there before being kicked out and basically sat out from playing anywhere (didn't go to McNeese and had SWAC interest) else due to his LSU love so he needs to invest all into LSU

with celebrity hires you have to have the administration on board from the jump as they're going to want things their way - Del State isn't winning by osmosis

Y'all putting Fred in a bad spot. If he wins the rest of the way he still may not get the job. Why should he put his best foot forward?

LOL at RG3 suggestion! Them LSU dudes about to learn quickly how useless they are once they step off the field.

LSU has its token Black in an interim role now and they already looking for their next great White hope.

Oh, Hell No to Mathieu at SU... brings nothing to the table!

That would be horrible. I was talking to a DSU alum yesterday at lunch in Philly and I was telling him if they keep winning, they might go to the Celebration Bowl. He asked, "What is that?"

Thing is they are good but it kind of just happened at the last minute. Again that defense is suspect but they run that ball down your throat and the QB be running it too. He's the key and he showed up at the last minute. Without him they would be in trouble.

Brother, I dont think nobody expected them to be winning, even the coaches. They be looking shocked like hell, we won

Who would want the job, as while the HC's salary is high by FCS standards, the other coaches salaries are far smaller? Factor in that there is a high chance they will get fired in two years (not giving enough time to build a team), who needs that type of stress.
No... the assistant coach salaries are on par with or better than most of FCS in the south.
