I haven't listened to it yet. I will listen to the podcast a little later but Kevin Durant should not have made those comments because Stephen A. never said he talked to Durant or any of his people.

I wanted to get folks opinion of this. I think SAS went a lil too far. I listen to Max & Marcelius radio show and Marcelius really took SAS to task for having " Sources" who never talk to Durant.
I know its Journalists in here and I wanted All opinions on this and bow does this "Sources" stuff work if the Athlete hasn't talked to anybody.

SAS said on First Take last week that he had sources telling him that Durant would go to LA if he doesn't stay in OK City. Durant fired back saying SAS was lying and that He (Durant) doesnt even talk to SAS and nobody he talks to talks to SAS either.

That's what I thought also. Iwonder what ESPN brass thought of that. They just let Whitlock go.
The source could be KDs agent, an NBA front office person; someone associated with the Thunder. It could be anyone within NBA circles who either knows Durant or has some knowledge of the situation.

ESPN loves it for First Take.
But Whitlock is no longer with ESPN because he's difficult to work with. That Undefeated project he was supposed to head nearly flopped because his ego allowed him to be too controlling, too involved and too much about him.

That's how I feel as well. SAS was right to defend his rep because KD called him a liar. He backed up everything he said. These athletes today are sensitive when the media is not praising them (see James Harden being mad at SAS because he said he didn't show up for the Finals (when he didn't).
Where I feel his crossed the line was the quote in the title of the thread.

It's kinda of SAS job to be a big mouth. It's part of the reason why he got him paid $3 million a year by ESPN to be one of the centerpieces of one of the network's highest rated show.

I understand ESPN's position and what they desire, for ratings, kendrick.
I asked "Why would he make that stupid comment?" What was the basis/substantiation for his comment about his being "black" and having a "big mouth?"

Well. I am a fan of SAS but we all have our likes and dislikes. I agree with him on some things and there are some things I don't. However, I am a fan and like the job he does.
