You know I already know what the deal is thegooddoctor, its just that I haven't heard a good fairy tale in so long I'll settle for anything.thegooddoctor said:This is how it went down>
SU and APB were originally scheduled to play at Pine Bluff on Oct. 2.
APB has a contract to play a home game in St. Louis on that playing date. They ask SU to play them at St. Louis. SU agreed only if APB assumed the extra travel costs involved. APB for some reason declined.
SU said then they would only play in Pine Bluff. APB then got AA&M to play in Oct. at St. Louis.
I think there is some sort of policy that prevents SU from playing in Nov. the week before the Bayou classic. The only time SU played the week before the Bayou classic was because of 911.
Really, APB would probably make more if they palyed SU in St. Louis since SU always has a large following on the road. Even if they agreed to the extra travel cost they couldn't find another team with the number of followers the jaguar nation has. Pete has said there won't be a Nov. game with APB. The commissioner has his work cut out. :argue:

Lemme pull a semi-Get Ready right here. This just shows the utter incompetence and cowardice that is the SWAC front office. It's really sad that individual schools can simply step all over conference mandates without fear of repercussion. It is painfully obvious that they don't know what the hell they doing and have no backbone in dealing with schools. First JSU got over and now SU gets over. Next you're gonna have some other schools trying to get over. Then if the conference does try to be stern, the "you let them get away with this crap" card will get played and it's gonna become a bigger problem. SU mighta played that card in this situation.mighty hornet said:This is a bunch of CROCK!!!!!!!!!!
How in the world could the SWAC sanction two teams in the same division not playing each other??? Talk about no back bone!!!!!!
and what is this mess about SU not being able to play the week before the BC?
WHY??
That's going to create more chaos. Not letting the schools make their own schedule? That's asinine. What if they schedule a conference game that conflicts with an important non-conference game, like the Southern Heritage Classic. Ain't no way we're gonna give up that game to play a UAPB or Texas Southern. I just can't see all of the schools going for this.Jag Voice said:------------------------------------------------------------------------
In 2005, the conference will develop every (SWAC) schedule and date, and the schools will plug in their nonconference games," Vowels said. "We'll tell them when and where, so we don't have this issue anymore."

If you read the article, he has plans to solve this problem at the SWAC meetings. I totally agree with his plans. No one school should be able to move a conference game for their own benefit.
