Tim Duncan was TERRIBLE at the FreeThrow line. I think he was 3/10 (30%). Horry saved Time @ZZ big time. Rasheed should have neve gotten off of Robert Horry. From the last minute of the 3rd to the end of OT he was doing it.
I dont think that last play was ment for Hamilton, I think the Pistons couldnt get it in to Chauncey so they had to go with Rip. Anyway, its gonna be tough to win 2 in SanAntonio, but I think the Pistons can do it.

I think the play was drawn up for Rip (terrible decision I think), but if you noticed on the play, Rip was double-teamed and Tayshaun was wide open after inbounding the ball, much like Horry came open for his game winning shot, but Rip never looked in his direction. But as far as winning 2 in San Antonio, it was going to be hard enough to have to win just one there, and the Pistons haven't won in San Antonio in 8 years.
 
I hate to say it but Bruce Bowen has taken Rip out his game this series. My Pistons will still pull it out.
 
Man them d@mn refs call a bull!sht @ss game tonite. They did everything in their power to give the spurs (I hate that becasue I like the spurs) an advantage but the Pistons still pull it out by doing what they do best. Staying sturdy.
 
I can't remember this refs name, but it's the black dude with the thick mustache. I've seen him at Rockets games and last nights game has convinced me that he needs glasses or some binoculars. Dude can't call a game worth nothin'. He blows that whistle and makes up a call because he realizes that he messed up.

I wanted Ben Wallace & Lindsey Hunter to bring one home for the HBCU(s). However, S.A. was the best team and I was particularly pleased to see Big Shot Rob (not bob :lol: ) get another ring.

SAN ANTONIO -- With the NBA title on the line, Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs proved themselves worthy champions.

Duncan came up huge in the second half after having the worst playoff series of his career, and Manu Ginobili had another breakthrough performance Thursday night to lead the Spurs past the Detroit Pistons 81-74 in a Game 7 that was as thrilling as it was rare.

In a matchup of the past two NBA champions, the Spurs came through in the clutch to win their third title in seven years and deny Detroit the chance to repeat.

The Spurs are certainly not a dynasty, but their staying power as a championship caliber team helps validate a legacy that history will respect.

Duncan had 25 points and 11 rebounds while shrugging off a stretch of eight straight misses that ended in the third quarter with the teams tied. Ginobili scored 21 points with a series of slashing, scintillating drives and big passes.

Behind one established star and one young flairful Argentine, the first Game 7 in more than a decade ended with the Spurs celebrating on their home court.

An 81-74 win in Game 7? That is sad. I got in tonight and the television just happened to be on ABC and it was like 77-71 with less than 30 seconds remaining in the game. The quality of play in the NBA is really poor and the score tonight is indicative of that. I stopped watching the NBA years ago and all I can say is . . . . thank goodness for NCAA and high school basketball.
