AUBURN HILLS, Mich., June 16 ? Remember the scouting report that said Detroit's bench, or lack of one, would be its Achilles heel? Throw that out the window after Lindsey Hunter and Antonio McDyess, the team?s primary reserves, combined for 30 points Thursday night.

It?s not as though the Spurs didn?t see the potential lurking on the sideline; McDyess has now scored in double-figures for three straight games, looking every bit his pre-surgery All-Star self.

What the Spurs didn?t see coming was a run-and-gun Detroit offense. The Pistons jumped at every chance to get out in transition, a style you'd think would favor the Spurs after seeing them dismantle the Suns in the Western Conference Finals. But the Pistons blew San Antonio right out of The Palace, registering a 102-71 victory in Game 4.

The Spurs couldn't touch Hunter and the Pistons Thursday.


On SportsCenter and your local news outlet between now and Game 5 Sunday, you?ll see Pistons players on the finishing end of plays. But look back a second or two ? likely before the highlight clip begins ? to see the undoing done.

Actually Lindsey forgot about his ability to shoot. He came into the playoffs with the worst shooting pct. in Nba playoff history, but homeboy had game last night.
 
I think It's all gonna boil down to the Sunday weather the Pistons beat the Spurs and take it back to the Palace and get back-to-back champion

I am a shamed. After the first 2 games Iwas thinking sweep. They won the first two as easily as they lost the next 2.

Man, the Pistons gave the Spurs a good ol' fashioned arse whoopin...

They came out and executed on both sides of the ball.

One key stat...San Antonio had 10 turnovers in the 1st half....Detroit had 3 turnovers for the ENTIRE GAME!!

Another Key stat...Hunter and McDyess...30 points combined.
 
RAsheed fugg that game up.

He was playing lax defense on Horry the entire time.
HOrry stepped it up, but Rasheed was acting like a Binithc on this one.

Rasheed should have never left Horry at anytime during that inbound pass. Rick Hamilton was the last person I wanted to touch that ball at the end of the game. I knew it was going to him when I heard Larry Brown say his name before they went to comercial break. Now they got to win everything in San Antonio. That's gonna be tough. :smh:

LOL. Big Game Bob is going to get his 6th ring. Horry probably still would have hit that shot even with someone on him. That's his m.o. Always will play lazy until the must win situation. He was horrible in the first half and showed his arse in the 4th. Rasheed should have never played off him, but somehow teams do this with him all the time. You would think after seeing him do this all these years they would at least try to guard him. Besides Michael Jordan and Reggie Miller, Horry has been the best player in the league the last 15 years at taking the last shot and converting it.

It is over for Detroit. Parker and Ginobli play on another level at the SBC center. So does Bruce Bowen. They are done. Horry done broke their hearts. It would have been better for them to get blown out than to lose that way. Now I think they will get blown out in San Antonio.

Spurs in 6. If there by chance a game 7 then Detroit will have a real good shot. Spurs need to finish them off now.
 
What Robert Horry really did was save Tim Duncan's arse from that terrible free throw display/disappearing act in the 4th quarter and overtime. He hit so many big shots in that timespan, got rebounds, defended, did all the things that make him the quintessential role player. It's gonna be tough for Detroit to rebound and win two games in San Antonio.
 
Ya'll don't think Rasheed was COACHED to trap in the corner? Ya'll give Larry Brown too much credit. No way Rasheed would be over there if his coach hadn't told him to be there.

I don't know Rasheed looked a little lost at the end. He almost blew it when he called timeout at the end of reguation play.

Tim Duncan was TERRIBLE at the FreeThrow line. I think he was 3/10 (30%). Horry saved Time @ZZ big time. Rasheed should have neve gotten off of Robert Horry. From the last minute of the 3rd to the end of OT he was doing it.
I dont think that last play was ment for Hamilton, I think the Pistons couldnt get it in to Chauncey so they had to go with Rip. Anyway, its gonna be tough to win 2 in SanAntonio, but I think the Pistons can do it.

If Duncan could have hit his free throws down the stretch, that game doesn't even go in to overtime. Horry does it again! How many hearts has he put the dagger in over the last 10 years?

That was the best game of the Finals.

I don't! Matter of fact, I expect San Antonio to play with the kind of intensity they played with in the first two games.
 
The Spurs will win Game 6. The Pistons had their spirit broken in game 5. Big Shot Bob did it again. Dude shows up in the playoffs.
