Dude be for real. Yall aint about to hire Calvin Magee. He is currently making close to 300k......so now what.... Budget surplus does not mean you are going to spend that kind of money and as you said you are still on the hook for Spears contract. Now don't come back saying yall fired him for probable cause either. Because if you do, that means you aint paying him off and wasn't ready to eat the big contract. You just found an out. But if you do have to pay him off, and then you think you can pay Calvin 300-400k to get him to leave WVA? The ULS aint going to let yall do that. Hell UAB's board told Jimbo Fisher he may be too expensive to hire and did not even interview him. I know they have more money than Gram. Look at who La Tech hired. They went and hired Vince Dooley's son. You know why? Because they can't afford it to hire no big name assistant coach.

Oh well if you believe Gram has 300-400k to pay Spears off and then spend that kind of money per year on a Calvin Magee type assistant.....well go show us then. Go on with yall bad selves. LOL.

Dude, did Gram get Cecil? You know damn well aint nobody been getting LSU players after Saban showed up. For one thing, he didn't recruit fools like Cecil Collins. That was a DiNardo player. BTW, when Cecil was at LSU, we had a couple kids named Steve Wofford and Melvin Williams......not to mention Ryan Lewis waiting in the wings........Carry on.

Now lets get to facilities. Who facilities in the SWAC are all that GR....AAMU has the best ones. Coe is complaining about his stuff at ASU and so did LC when he was there. What does Valley have that is so great. I have seen the nice stadium PB has but never the football facility. Gram has what? A nice weight room? Locker rooms? We can see that. But what has that done to make them a dominant team. Why were they 3-8 this year. Why with all the great facilities AAMU has, did it take them all this time to win a SCG even against programs with lesser facilities? Like DaHill said Appalachian St facilities aint all that and they win......Explain that bruh.

Just worry about how JSU will all that you have still is in a 10 year draught in winning a football title. That is what you need to do. Otherwise you can not comment to any thing revelant. I can call Pete lazy you can't. Because he has still found a way to win titles when your program could not. Even in one of his lazy years.

Doesnt JSU have the top basketball player in the country?
Doesnt JSU have the top track star in the country?
Doesnt JSU have the top girls and boys basketball team in the country?
Do you think that stuff happens by accident.

GR will tell you what....keep paying coaches 200K while the players are starving.

BTW...GR couldnt care less about the Jukebox. GR is disappointed in how bad they were this year. If GR will give you credit anywhere, its the band. But the only advantage yall had, sound, you didnt have that anymore.

Mumford is still more attractive than many stadiums in the SWAC. Once the field house is built the players from both teams will be comfortable. They are the ones who count. You think a player is going to be worried because a fan had to use a port or pottie.......as long as he is changing in a nice facility with amenities he aint going to even pay attention to the stadium. Well at least Mumford looks good from the field which is also a nice selling point. Concessions and Bathrooms in Mumford is for the fans enjoyment. Hell that is the last thing on my mind right now. Just get the damn field house done. The field is already there and so is the scoreboard. Aint like the stadium is falling apart. sheesh.......

They stated on the Subr system web that upgrades would be made to the current stadium ,like new concessions upgrades, restrooms and handy cap facilities. This will be nicer than 80% of 1-aa.

Uh for one....Gram is under more financial scrutiny than SU...being a ULS school. Not saying they are broke. But we have our own Board to make those type of decisions.
Second Gram had more money to pay out in Spears contract than we did with Pete. So if they end up paying Spears 150k per year left that will be 450 K. Then turn around and hire a coach like Calvin for 300-400K a year. Come on GR, do the math. You know none of our HBCUs can do that. That is a lot of money.
Third, You never saw JR saying we could hire Calvin either. My two choices are LC Cole and Mike White......I am a realist. I understand that Cal is getting paid at WVA. Now that doesn't mean we should not try to get him. He is a former SU ball player during the time ole JR was there. LOL. So I know he bleeds blue and gold. But I also understand he is on a staff that just got a big arse raise and they have a top 10 program. So why would he leave that to come coach in the SWAC where it has been proven that 1A coaches have flopped(See Bell, Cooper, Dickerson). JR wouldn't but that's just JR.

Mumford needs everything its going to get, cause its ragedy as hell and its been ragedy for over 20years. Anybody that thinks Mumford looks better than Crews, Memorial, Alcorn or Uapb is crazy. Actually Crampton is old but it looks better than Mumford also.:winkgrin: :nod:

Uh 600k for Jimbo Fisher aint enough money for a HC gig bruh. Sorry. But that explains my point. La Tech is only willing to pay 600K and that is probably pushing it for them.

So now you want to hire LC Cole........Go ahead. Do that then. It makes more sense to me. Mike White will still be out there for SU. So now what? You can't hire both of them. BTW, aint no one worried about Gram hiring Cole. Especially from what I am hearing your AD talk publically about the reasons behind Spears getting canned. If it aint the drug test....then it must be rules violations. So basically you aint going to get ULS or Judson to buy hiring LC or Johnny if you just fired Spears for the same type stuff. LOL. yeah right. Crews, Jack Spinks, Memorial, and UAPB may have the better looking stadiums than SU, but it aint nothing nice about Crampton Bowl even Bama State is tired of it. I personally think Mumford only issue is the concessions and bathrooms. The Stadium is not falling apart. It is not raggedy inside where the fans sit. Come on. The field is nice after the installing the new turf a few years ago and of course the nice arse scoreboard. I aint even going to mention the Press Box.....it is the best in the SWAC. The only thing folks can complain about Mumford is the amenities. That's it. That will be addressed with the renovations.

Exactly my point, Baton Rouge Municipal Stadium has better for the High schools.

But Cat........folks act like Mumford is falling down or something. We know the issues the stadium has. Those are an easy fix. Why it took this long is another story. It used to be the field was muddy and we had a raggedy scoreboard and press box. Those are done. Now just under the stadium needs work. The stadium itself is solid and not ugly at all.

^^^ The proof of the pudding is in the taste.. they will all see that MUMFORD is the best stadium in all of BCF once the renovations are complete!!
They believe that it won't happen anytime soon, but Southern isn't playing games we bout to show eveyone why we have that "S" on our chest, cause we know we are the best...

None can match our 3 million dollar scoreboard. None can match our 1 million dollar sand base field, with a high tech drainage system, AAMU is the only school that has a comparable press box with suites. Our only problem was the locker rooms and now since that matter is being taken care of we will have the best stadium in BCF football, and 95% better than the rest of 1-aa.
