Southern vs Tennessee State: Game Updates - 6:00pm CT

1. I'm aware of how the teams are picked for the AFC and I am also aware that FAMU has a lot of..."connections" with the 100 BMA of Atlanta.

2. Since you guys were already under a home-and-home contract with Southern, it would have made more sense for FAMU to play SU in Tally (another good payday) and go after a stronger opponent that will draw a crowd in Atlanta.

3. FAMU has been living in the '90s for majority of this decade. Your program has not been that good for a while now so if yall fire a proven winner (Joe Taylor) that will be your loss. Joe Taylor leaving Hampton for FAMU was a step down since he had more connection in the VA Tidewater and kept a consistent program at HIU.

4. Yall won't be going to the playoffs. Judging from last night's game, FAMU will lose at least 3 MEAC games to go along with their L to USF. If FAMU would stop scheduling these cupcake schools and FBS schools for OOC competition, they would probably get a bid to the FCS playoffs.

You make so little sense, I will only address a few of your "points". You agree we dont schedule the team, but then put the onus on us due to connections. I guess that is why we pulled out from this game in the past over money and almost did again this winter. Cause we have it like that with the 100 BM. They picked SU cause the supertrick promised to bring enough people for them to pay FAMU our increased guarantee. Who cares? We have a contract to play SU and a great rivalry. Would prefer to play them at home, but it is what it is. Our last three coaches have a combined two losing seasons. Comegy has that in just his short tenure at JSU. Win the division one year and win three games the next. And not keep a decent APR. Comegy is a horrible coach who cant exist in the era of APR, but we (FAMU folks) also warned you about him coming from the Billy Joe coaching tree and how that would no longer work. And the resources at FAMU are better than Taylor ever had at Hampton. That is why they have been garbage since he left. He WAS the program.

Good luck with your coaching search.

Just cause they beat a sorry SWAC team. Folks said the same thing last year and we cleaned that clock and outclassed them.

Stop lying. They were beating yall until their QB went down. It was wrap after that.

BCU has a better program because they had a better record and went to the playoffs. Yall just lucked up, beat them without their QB, and shared a 3-way title in a sorry conference.

We knocked their QB out the game, along with the second string QB. That aint luck. They went to the playoffs based on tie breaker points and got kicked to sleep. And NO ONE in the SWAC should be talking about a sorry conference.

Well, as long as your number one MEAC team play the SWAC's number 5th through 10th place team, you can't help but win.

SU wiil be lucky not to go 0-4 through September, but they got bigger issues than football. The school is on the verge of declaring financial bankruptcy next week. If they do this, it means that things are about to go from bad to worse at Southern. I wish them luck because in reality, a failing SU can't be good for any of us. Folks tried to tell them, but all you get is the ususal spin and denial. Their leadership is ???.

RIF

Po Jax, ...still can't pronounce THAMES :swink:

Tried to tell ya'll that Mason and ole TC were about to sell SU down the river. Your alumni has more power than you think unless you just continue to deny, spin, and accept the bs. I guess dem Mississippi folks are just smarter than y'all when it came to Mason. Grambling and SU's situation are completely different because they are under two different governing boards. Our governing board, under the La. system is not trying to declare us bankrupt like yours is. Gov Jindal is trying to destroy your system. Schools that have done this in the past have not closed, but they have been downsized and had program closure to the point that their enrollment has dropped down to near 200 students, and also, their credit rating and accrediation has been threatened. It is not a good thing for any university to do or go through. I hope SU doesn't do it. Y'all ain't millionaries like Donald Trump. No one wants or said that SU will close, but some folx just ain't gettin it. All HBCU's are under attack but believe me, we understand this more than anybody at Grambling.

Peace

He's trying to play dumb and sell magic beans. FAMU folks are known for doing that on other message boards.

To really be honest, we a par below most conferences in D-1AA.

"WOW"

I was disappointed with "Stump" he was talking SMACK a few weeks ago. I was disappointed in the number of SU players that were hurt - they looked out of shape.

SU, band was disappointing, what I witnessed was not the traditional SU band - what are they called the "Human Juke Box" sounded more like a RCA Victor - to be honest TSU did not soune that much better.

SU good luck for the remainder of the season.

Are you sure that talking about the NFL is smack? And SU players always look out of shape, nothing new.

My point isn't about how many fans we bring to the game, my point it TNSU and SU said the JMC would be a sell out because when you invite SU,GRAM and other teams they would 40K-50K. It ain't gonna happen. TNSU fans just don't come out for this game.

Dude yall set the record in 99 which was 31,000...lets think about this....SU coming off a bad year last year (worst in school history) the attendance was 25,000 and mostly that was SU fans the paper said...then in 2008...after Hurricane Gusta the attendance was 28,000....and alottttt of fans cancelled going to that game....Bruh we break records when we go outta of town...

and lets think back in 99...if SU would have gotten invited...the way we was kicking ass that year...do you think that 31,000 would have held up???
