1. I'm aware of how the teams are picked for the AFC and I am also aware that FAMU has a lot of..."connections" with the 100 BMA of Atlanta.
2. Since you guys were already under a home-and-home contract with Southern, it would have made more sense for FAMU to play SU in Tally (another good payday) and go after a stronger opponent that will draw a crowd in Atlanta.
3. FAMU has been living in the '90s for majority of this decade. Your program has not been that good for a while now so if yall fire a proven winner (Joe Taylor) that will be your loss. Joe Taylor leaving Hampton for FAMU was a step down since he had more connection in the VA Tidewater and kept a consistent program at HIU.
4. Yall won't be going to the playoffs. Judging from last night's game, FAMU will lose at least 3 MEAC games to go along with their L to USF. If FAMU would stop scheduling these cupcake schools and FBS schools for OOC competition, they would probably get a bid to the FCS playoffs.
You make so little sense, I will only address a few of your "points". You agree we dont schedule the team, but then put the onus on us due to connections. I guess that is why we pulled out from this game in the past over money and almost did again this winter. Cause we have it like that with the 100 BM. They picked SU cause the supertrick promised to bring enough people for them to pay FAMU our increased guarantee. Who cares? We have a contract to play SU and a great rivalry. Would prefer to play them at home, but it is what it is. Our last three coaches have a combined two losing seasons. Comegy has that in just his short tenure at JSU. Win the division one year and win three games the next. And not keep a decent APR. Comegy is a horrible coach who cant exist in the era of APR, but we (FAMU folks) also warned you about him coming from the Billy Joe coaching tree and how that would no longer work. And the resources at FAMU are better than Taylor ever had at Hampton. That is why they have been garbage since he left. He WAS the program.
Good luck with your coaching search.
